As we approach World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded that meaningful support can start with a simple conversation. Taking the time to check in, listen without judgment and make space for different experiences can make a real difference. At TGS, we believe creating a supportive environment starts with looking out for one another and making sure people feel heard, valued and supported. Real voices. Real experiences. Positive change.

In this special edition of our Basin Intelligence newsletter, TGS explores how 2026’s exploration successes are reinforcing the value of high-quality seismic data in revealing opportunities and reducing uncertainty.   We begin in Suriname, examining the Caiman-1 discovery and what it could signal for the largely untested Campanian turbidite-channel play across the basin’s shallow shelf.   Read the full article to discover how TGS’ multi-client seismic data is providing new context for recent discoveries and helping uncover where exploration opportunities may lie next. The Special Edition Discovery Series continues in the weeks ahead, with a closer look at more of 2026’s major discoveries and the data behind them.

Every exploration decision carries risk. The challenge is knowing how much of that risk comes from the subsurface image and how much comes from the subsurface itself. Within deep basins pre-salt exploration, poor signal separation and limited low-frequency information can obscure key geological features, making it harder to evaluate prospects with confidence. Gemini X, a step change in marine seismic operational efficiency, helps exploration teams see the subsurface more clearly. By delivering cleaner signal separation and stronger low frequencies, it provides higher-confidence imaging that supports more informed decisions from prospect evaluation through well planning. When the cost of uncertainty is high, better imaging matters. Learn how Gemini X is helping exploration teams gain sharper insights into challenging geology. https://hubs.ly/Q04zmknt0

Modern broadband reprocessing is doing more than improving image quality. In frontier offshore basins, it is revealing geological complexity that was previously hidden and reshaping how interpreters evaluate prospect risk. In our latest GEO EXPRO article, Felicia Winter discusses how modern broadband reprocessing offshore Sierra Leone and Liberia is improving well-to-seismic calibration, refining AVO interpretation and helping operators better separate fluid effects from lithology. Petrobras finds more oil at Morpho! Following the initial discovery in August, Petrobras has identified an additional oil-bearing interval deeper in the same well in Amapá, Brazil. Further analysis is underway to assess the latest find.   Understanding how these results fit into the broader basin requires regional subsurface context. Morpho sits within the AMAPA 3D Phase I Repro dataset, a TGS and Viridien consortium project that supports evaluation of the Cretaceous fans and channel fairways beneath the Amazon Cone sediments. The image below highlights in orange the intervals most likely associated with the hydrocarbon discovery. Congratulations to Petrobras on this important milestone in advancing our understanding of the area’s exploration potential.   Explore the AMAPA 3D Phase I and II surveys and connect with our experts to discuss your next steps in Brazil’s Equatorial Margin: https://hubs.ly/Q04z3HtL0
