tldraw's SDK is the first, best, and only SDK to build collaborative infinite canvas applications. Using our infrastructure, our customers build everything from graphic design tools (e.g. Google Stitch) to education platforms (e.g. Padlet), right through to enabling complex data annotation (e.g. Observable) and even roadmap and planning tools (e.g. ClickUp). We've taken on the gnarly part of building the hugely complex underlying canvas and component libraries, to free up our customers to build what makes their product uniquely valuable.

Y Combinator just released their latest Request for Startups. Here's my breakdown of the Summer 2026 edition 👇 The primary pattern across all 15 categories is: Rebuild your whole workflow, company, service, interface, chip, or supply chain around AI (NOT AI features or wrappers). When it comes to SaaS, they're referring to this primarily as "AI-Native Service Companies." For instance, rather than sell accounting software you should sell the completed accounting outcome. Or, instead of compliance tooling, you deliver compliance handled end-to-end. This is a shift to an outcome based model vs the old per seat model in software. When the software does the work, the buyer pays for the work. Two other notable patterns: 1. YC wants AI in the physical world. Agriculture, drone defense, space electronics, lunar manufacturing. 2. Agents are becoming customers. There's a bet and a trend right now of people banking on a world where the future users of your product are not humans but agents calling your APIs. The big takeaways which I believe are sure bets: If you're in software focus on selling outcomes and the physical world. If you're willing to make more of a "stretch" bet, build for a world where AI fucntions as an agentic buyer.

Mermaid diagrams are everywhere. Every LLM loves putting them together and they can be great for planning or docs. But once they're generated the diagrams are frozen. You can't move things around, easily add onto them, or bring them easily into your app. In the next tldraw release you'll be able to add mermaid as shapes on the canvas, move them around, share them, or completely customize how they're rendered. Working with others on the canvas is great. But what about when you need to know who created what? In tldraw 5.0, the next iteration of tldraw's SDK, we're giving each shape a paper trail so you never have to guess. 🎒 For a busy classroom with teachers monitoring multiple students 🧑🎨 For designers ensuring each change is clearly attributed 📝 For internal tooling needing an audit trail Attribution is on the way (along with plenty more to come...)

It's not everyday that tldraw finds itself at number 10 - but last week had one of those days! Huge thanks to the Incubator for Artificial Intelligence for inviting our very own Steve Ruiz to join the important discussion on how the UK approaches the huge (and eternally evolving) topic of AI. Proud to be here in the UK and to be part of this debate.
This morning, we brought the brilliant minds speaking at AI Engineer Europe inside No10. Hosted by Jade L. (Prime Minister's AI Advisor), Kalbir Sohi (Chief AI Officer for the UK and Director of the Incubator for AI), and Eoin Mulgrew (Head of the No.10 Innovation Fellowship), the room was full of people who are serious about what AI can do for this country. The message was clear: this government is ambitious. We want to build a better Britain with AI. And teams like i.AI and the Innovation Fellows are already turning that ambition into action, transforming how the public sector works, at pace.
