In July, we started our first cohort of Dugout programme. Five students/fresh graduates who came in with a clean slate are now honing their skills and picking up new ones, and we are just proudly watching them grow. The vibe creator of the music scene It's been a little over two months now, and every Saturday still pulls me back to the same spot, Church Street, where the buskers decided to show up that week. I'm not a musician. I'm not performing.But somewhere along the way I became the person who's always there, moving to it, feeling it out loud while everyone else just watches or walks past. I guess that makes me a vibe creator of sorts, not on stage, just part of the crowd that makes the moment feel alive. No two Saturdays are the same. Some days I just stand there and listen, letting the music do all the work. Other days I can't help it; I'm dancing, fully in it, like the street was built for exactly this. I could have a dozen other plans lined up, somewhere else to be, something else to do and somehow I still end up there. There's something about that scene that just calls you back. It hasn't all been easy, honestly But it hasn't kept me away. If anything, showing up anyway feels like its own quiet kind of stubbornness; the music, the people, the unpredictability of it all is worth more to me than the difficulties.
