Yambo developers team

We benchmarked our GW implementation against the GW100 data set, comparing the Godby–Needs plasmon-pole model and our Multipole Approximation (MPA). Both perform excellently vs. full-frequency references, with MPA delivering outstanding agreement.

The Yambo team will be participating in the Joint ICTP–MARVEL College: Materials Simulations in the Age of AI (1–12 June 2026, Trieste 🇮🇹) organized by NCCR-MARVEL , Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) and Swiss National Science Foundation SNSF This two-week intensive school covers first-principles methods, molecular dynamics, and machine-learning approaches for materials simulations — and we can't wait to contribute with lectures and hands-on on Many Body Perturbation Theory. #CnrNanoNEWS 📣 Cnr Nano drives the MAX-NCC Training School on Advanced Spectroscopy Cnr Nano is proud to play a leading role in the upcoming MAX-NCC training school Computational Spectroscopy: Hands-on Many-body Calculations with the YAMBO Code. This high-level educational initiative dedicated to cutting-edge methods in computational and experimental spectroscopy is organized by MaX Centre of Excellence for Materials at the eXascale and the National Competence Centre of Czech Republic. The online training school brings together young researchers and experts from across Europe to explore advanced theoretical and computational approaches that are shaping the future of materials science and spectroscopy. As coordinator in the MaX Centre of Excellence for Materials at the eXascale, Cnr Nano will contribute its internationally recognized expertise in computational spectroscopy and many-body electronic-structure methods, supporting the scientific program with lectures and hands-on training activities. Among speakers and tutors, 7 of our researchers (Daniele Varsano, Giacomo Sesti, Andrea Ferretti, Matteo D’alessio, Fulvio Paleari, Nicola Spallanzani, Cláudia Cardoso) will share advanced methodologies developed within codes such as #YamboCode, widely used for first-principles simulations of excited-state properties and spectroscopic signals. The Yambo Developers Team is proud to have contributed to the 2026 ACM Asian School on High-Performance Computing and Artificial Intelligence. Through lectures and hands-on tutorials, the school provided an excellent opportunity to train the next generation of researchers in many-body perturbation theory and advanced excited-state simulations using the Yambo code. We would like to sincerely thank HANAMI Project, RIKEN and ACM, Association for Computing Machinery for the outstanding organization and for fostering such a stimulating scientific environment. Initiatives like this are essential to strengthen the link between method development, HPC infrastructures, and end users.
