DMEXCO - Digital Marketing Expo & Conference week is nearly here and we're bringing the full team to Köln. On 23–24 September, Chang-Won Hwang, Peter Mielke, Helmut Aichholzer and Andrea Bonfiglio will all be on the ground, ready to talk composable CDP, AI-native activation, and how enterprise brands are actually making first-party data pay back. Two days of DMEXCO, plus the side events that usually generate the sharpest conversations: a pre-DMEXCO dinner on the 22nd, a partner breakfast on the morning of the 23rd, and a partner lunch on the 24th before we head home. If you're going to be in Köln and want to swap notes or lock in time with any of us,DM any of the team directly. We'll make it work. See you there!

Most partner dinners happen after the big event. We're doing ours the night before. On 28 September, the evening ahead of Snowflake World Tour Berlin, Zeotap is hosting drinks for anyone in town early: a chance to talk data, identity and activation before the agendas fill up the next day. No panels, no pitches. Just a relaxed start to the week with people working on the same problems you are. Details and registration here: https://lnkd.in/eWz8H67u

We just moved the goalposts on what "composable CDP" means. For years, composable meant: keep your data in your own warehouse, but still rent a full cloud warehouse to do the work. Still locked into one vendor's cloud. Still paying per-credit compute tax. Still can't satisfy hard data-residency requirements. Today we're launching Zeotap Open CDP: the first fully composable CDP that runs entirely on open-source compute, over YOUR own lakehouse. Open Apache Spark for the engine. Open Apache Iceberg tables on your own storage. Your existing catalog (Databricks Unity, Snowflake, Google Cloud, or open-source Unity Catalog). No proprietary warehouse underneath. No copy of your data leaving your jurisdiction. For regulated, high-volume B2C enterprises — telco, retail, financial services — this isn't a nice-to-have. It's the difference between a data sovereignty story you can actually evidence to a regulator, and one you can't. As our founder and CPO Projjol Banerjea puts it: "Openness becomes the lock-in story, told in reverse — because every layer is replaceable, customers can leave whenever they want, which is precisely why they stay." Curious what full data sovereignty without warehouse lock-in actually looks like? https://lnkd.in/e6KenMut

September looks like we tried to fit a year of conversations into four weeks! After Martech World Forum and VMF Dubai, we will be in Cologne for DMEXCO - Digital Marketing Expo & Conference; book a meeting if you want to talk about composable CDP, real-time activation, or where first-party data is actually heading. We will have plenty of side events in between meetings, from a private dinner, a breakfast and a lunch. Then the Snowflake crowd: Data Over Drinks in Berlin (28 September) and After Hours: From Data to Action in London (30 September), both built for people who'd rather talk architecture over a glass of wine. And if data and basketball are your thing, we're courtside all season with FC Bayern Basketball for Talking Data on the Courtside. Busy month. Good conversations, though. See where we'll be and grab a spot: zeotap.com/events/

I've been having CDP conversations in Dubai since before the acronym existed. And the GCC still does the same thing it did back then: gets there early, then refuses to slow down. VMF 26 made that obvious within about an hour. The best part wasn't the stage. It was finally meeting, face to face, people I've known for years through screens and shared customers Sohail Nawaz MBE, Sami Skaff, Kunal Badiani Miles Jones, Sachin Tripathi and a long list of others in the room, old and new friends. What struck me most was the openness. Nobody was there to claim everything was working. The conversations were about what's genuinely landing and what still isn't. That's rare, and it's a big part of why this region moves faster than most. One pattern kept coming back. Plenty of brands have already done the hard part. The data is centralised in BigQuery, Snowflake or Databricks as the single source of truth. Campaigns run straight into the engagement platform of choice. On paper, the stack is modern. Then you look at the customer experience and personalisation is… fine. Not wrong, just flat. Segments that don't really move. Journeys that don't really adapt. Because the warehouse stores the truth and the engagement platform delivers the message, but something has to sit between them and decide who gets what, when, and why. That's the layer most stacks are missing. That's the part Zeotap is built for. If you're sitting on great data and underwhelming personalisation, I'd enjoy that conversation. That's a wrap on Vibe Marketing Tech Fest (VMF) Dubai. Two days of genuinely great conversations, and our first sponsorship in the region felt like exactly the right way to kick things off. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, asked hard questions about your data stack, and shared what's actually keeping you up at night. A big thank you to Mohamed Ali, Paul McCord, Aniket Awati and Javier M. for representing Zeotap on the ground and making the most of every single conversation. On to the next one.

And that's a wrap on Martech World Forum London. Two days, hundreds of conversations, and honestly more energy than we expected walking in. The best part was everyone who stopped by our "Above the Noise" balcony, the questions, the war stories, the "wait, can your platform actually do that" moments. Thank you to everyone who joined us, sat down for a chat, or just said hello on the show floor. Thank you to Thomas Wolf for bringing real substance to the stage and Matthew Niederberger for hosting a roundtable that turned into a proper open debate with the whole table. Thank you to Juan Mendoza, Julia Secretan, Nat Luck and the whole team working behind the scenes to pull this off. And huge shoutout to the team on the ground: Elad Simon, Projjol Banerjea, Pritika Shetty, Emma Currie, Georgina West, you were everywhere at once, in the best way. London, this one was a good one. See you at the next.

One day into Vibe Marketing Tech Fest (VMF) Dubai, and the conversations at our booth have spanned a lot of ground: from predictive intelligence and behavioural data to how brands are balancing performance with long-term brand value in this market. The common thread: teams have the infrastructure, the gap is turning data into action without adding another layer of complexity. Stop by our booth an meet the team on site Mohamed Ali, Paul McCord, Aniket Awati and Javier M. for more 🚀 Day 2, let's go.

What a day at Martech World Forum London! Thomas Wolf took the stage with our very own Projjol Banerjea to tell the real story of leaving a legacy CDP behind. Then Elad Simon joined Matthew Niederberger's on the roundtable about data gravity and ownership, and the room did not hold back. Great energy, great questions, exactly what we came for. Day 2 is live right now. If you're around, come find us and follow the signs upstairs to our "Above the Noise" balcony, that's where the team is hanging out and having the best conversations away from the show floor! Huge shoutout to the crew making it all happen on the ground: Elad Simon, Projjol Banerjea, Pritika Shetty, Emma Currie, Georgina West.
