Empowering Companies, Nonprofits & Communities to Build #MilitaryThriving Cultures That Uplift Veterans.
About us
A “mil” is a precise unit of measurement used by the U.S. military to ensure 100% accuracy before hitting a target. ZeroMils is zeroing in on the barriers to nationwide Military Thriving—bringing companies, nonprofits, and communities into alignment through a shared mission. “Military Friendly” has and will never be enough; military families continue to face challenges in finding meaningful careers, businesses miss out on top talent, and communities lack the infrastructure to provide meaningful support. Through strategic relationships and accountable commitments, we are championing mission-driven changemakers across the U.S. to become catalysts for measurable impact. The goal? Stronger talent pipelines, more resilient communities, and lasting economic growth. Visit zeromils.com or email thrive@zeromils.com to find out more.

“Many hearts. One Wells Fargo.” Those words filled the air at our Uniting in Service: Military Thriving Charlotte event. Last week, Wells Fargo and ZeroMils stood shoulder to shoulder, inspiring the next generation to lead through service. Veterans, military families, and local youth joined in, honoring our fallen, supporting Charlotte’s food-insecure, and showing what Military Thriving® looks like in action. All of this is possible because of Wells Fargo’s commitment to those who serve. When companies truly invest in the military community, young people take notice, service finds new life, and communities flourish. Thank you Wells Fargo and Sean Passmore for helping us strengthen the culture of service.

To every veteran: thank you for your courage, your sacrifice, and your continued service to our nation. In The Hill, Kevin Schmiegel reminds us that America needs that leadership now more than ever. His message: the next mission is unity through service. Read his Veterans Day op-ed: “November 11 Isn’t About Serving Veterans, It’s About Veterans Serving America.” 🔗 Link in the comments.

Our Uniting in Service event last week reminded us why this work matters. In a moment when food security isn’t guaranteed for so many families, seeing people from every walk of life show up to serve side by side was nothing short of humbling. This is what community looks like: not a headline, not a hashtag, but hands, hearts, and time given freely. To West Charlotte High School JROTC students: thank you for showing up with such pride and purpose. You are the future of this country, and we hope yesterday lit a spark you’ll carry into every classroom, formation, and community you step into. To every volunteer, every partner, and every quiet helper behind the scenes, thank you. You turned intention into impact. Special thanks to Blessings in a Backpack, wear blue: run to remember, and Wells Fargo and your incredible team for locking arms with us to support military-connected families and neighbors in need. This is Military Thriving in action. Let’s keep showing up. 🧡

🎥 From September’s Uniting in Service in Minneapolis: people from all walks of life showing up together to serve. Military-connected families don’t just support those who serve, they serve alongside them. Every spouse organizing a drive and every child growing up with the example of service adds up to civic strength. We don’t see supporters, we see engines of civic renewal. Service isn’t only something to thank people for; it’s something we all build together. See you tomorrow (Thu, Nov 6) at the Charlotte Uniting in Service event ❣️

Thank you to the Virginia Department of Veterans Services for the invitation to share our story and vision. As talent needs shift, Military Thriving isn’t a nice-to-have, it’s a competitive advantage. From spouse-friendly scheduling to mentorship pathways and community partnerships, small changes compound into better retention and stronger teams. “Our mission at ZeroMils is to create Military Thriving cultures and communities.” 🎥 Watch Kevin's interview clip to see what that looks like in action. If this resonates, reach out; we want to help bring this vision to life in your community, too. #MilitaryThriving #ZeroMils #VeteranHiring #MilitarySpouseEmployment #MilitaryFamilies
