What a fantastic Dev Day from OpenAI — genuinely inspiring to see the scale and maturity of their developer ecosystem taking shape 🎉 The announcement reminded me of Facebook’s 2007 F8 moment — the same energy of ‘a new ecosystem for developers to reach millions through a conversational interface.’ Back then, Facebook opened its platform wide… and eventually tightened it. A reminder that platform cycles often go open → scale → consolidate. The generative AI wave is now entering its own “ecosystem phase.” The SDKs, app store model, and integration hooks are exciting — but it raises an old question in a new form: Can AI platforms stay open enough for true innovation, or will they eventually narrow as distribution power grows?
