𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙋𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙀𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙜𝙮 𝘼𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙃𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙣 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙮 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙈𝙖𝙟𝙤𝙧 𝙂𝙧𝙞𝙙 𝙐𝙥𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙨 CenterPoint Energy has completed 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 (𝐆𝐇𝐑𝐈) ahead of schedule, fulfilling 42 commitments after Hurricane Beryl to strengthen the electric system and enhance storm response. Key achievements include hardening 350 miles of power lines, trimming vegetation along 2,000 miles, installing over 1,100 storm-resilient poles, and deploying 300 automated devices to reduce outages. Additionally, CenterPoint launched a cloud-based outage tracker and improved its Power Alert Service for better customer communication. 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐓𝐰𝐨, 𝐬𝐞𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 1, 2025, will focus on creating a self-healing system to reduce outage frequency and duration by over 125 million minutes annually. Planned actions include undergrounding 400 miles of power lines, installing 25,000 wind-resistant poles, and adding 4,500 automation devices. CenterPoint also aims to enhance community partnerships and roll out a year-round public emergency preparedness campaign. This acquisition includes a pioneering lower-carbon ammonia project in Beaumont, Texas. Woodside CEO Meg O'Neill highlights the strategic move, positioning Woodside as an early adopter in the rapidly expanding lower-carbon ammonia market. The Beaumont project is set to commence ammonia production in 2025, transitioning to lower-carbon ammonia by 2026, leveraging natural gas and carbon sequestration. This aligns with global trends where ammonia demand is expected to double by 2050, with lower carbon variants constituting a significant portion of this growth. ‘Tis the Season for Midstream Deals and Decisions in the Permian Jingle bells are ringing this week in the Land of Oil and Gas A-plenty where midstream operators are already unwrapping holiday gifts. Reese Energy Consulting today is following the latest from the Permian, starting with Midland, Texas-based rockstars Kinetik Midstream and E&P Permian Resources. Kinetik, which in short order has become the Delaware’s largest independent gatherer and processor, operates 4,600+ miles of natural gas and crude oil pipe, and six gas plants with another under construction and another one planned. The company in 3Q reported $83.7 million in net income—a 94% increase year over year—and fattened its stake in Diamondback Energy’s EPIC crude pipeline to 27.5%. Kinetik will now further expand its “super system” in a $180 million bolt-on deal for Permian Resources’ Delaware oil and gas midstream assets. Kinetik gains 60,000 gross acres dedicated by Permian Resources under long-term, fixed-fee agreements that include 150 MMCFD and an estimated 250 MBPD next year, 250 MMCFD of compression, and natural gas processing. For its part, Permian Resources is sticking to its guns to remain the Delaware’s lowest-cost operator. This, after announcing a third consecutive increase to its full-year production targets and 160.8 MBPD announced in 3Q. Rock on, rockstars. Energy Transfer meanwhile has gifted Permian producers with a FID on the formerly named Warrior natural gas pipeline project. Now known as the Hugh Brinson, the 400-mile pipeline will flow an initial 1.5 BCFD from the Waha Hub to its pipeline connection south of Fort Worth. Phase I completion is expected by year end 2026 to be followed by Phase II which will increase capacity to 2.2 BCFD. Jingle all the way. What do you think? July Musings: Collaborative Conflict At first glance, the topic sounds like an oxymoron, doesn’t it? However, if you manage to get through to the end of the post, I hope you agree to the fact that they are two sides of the same coin.   While a lot is said of what Collaboration and Conflict mean to us, let us reflect on what they are not!   Collaboration is not: - blindly agreeing to everything that the other person says and going with the flow - never providing consider feedback (or improvement points) to the other person and only highlighting the positives - putting up with sub-standard processes or quality of work just because you don’t want to be the one to highlight it   Conflict is not (or should not be): - illogical arguments on every single topic just to prove the point that you are superior - a vehicle to react violently or mete out abuse to folks that you don’t agree with - an excuse to avoid talking to folks that you think differently from  At a recent offsite, the leader (Vikas Desai) used a very effective mechanism to teach collaborative conflict. Here is a summary: Divide your group into pairs and think of a situation. Example: You would like to go out on vacation with each other’s families and are trying to plan the outing. Person 1: Makes a statement or suggestion Person 2: Starts their statement with “No, but…”   Now try the same situation where Person 2 starts their statement with “Yes, but…” Lastly, the same situation once more, however Person 2 now starts their statement with “Yes, and…”   As you might have guessed, the third time around the conversation is more effective and there is a possibility of being able to make some decisions and both parties agreeing to them.   Absence of conflict in an organization smells of low engagement or may result in sub-optimal teams. Conflicts are the foundations to innovative solutions or even the reason why you have fully engaged teams that are passionate to build the right products! So how do you bring in Collaboration in Conflict? Following are the necessary ingredients: - Respectful conflict. While you may disagree with each other, you do not disrespect or abuse each other. - North star – When you are deep into conflict, take time off to calibrate how far you have wandered away from the north star. - Ego needs to go. This may be the most difficult. Give your ego a day off! Losing an argument or a conflict should only signal that you have learnt something new. If you believe this will take you closer to the north star, give up your ego and go for it. Sometimes, gracefully agreeing that another idea is better can be more productive than defending your idea to death.  Lastly, it pays to pick your battles than going after all of them. In the long run, accepting some inconsequential arguments if you manage to convince them of the greater direction that you should take is a winning strategy!   So, what do you want to argue about today? Yes, and let us do it over a cup of tea, shall we?

My gratitude for the last 12 years cannot be expressed into words. But after more than a decade of experience with the same oil and gas software vendor (W Energy Software), it was time to create something of my own. I wanted to build something that was inherently customer-focused where the relationships were intentional, natural, and mutual. This defines the nature of a partner—to be known, liked, and trusted. So, I am excited to introduce my new company ARK Consulting Partners, LLC. The letters “ARK” are credited to my lovely wife, Natalie. An attorney at Beloved Adoption Law, PLLC, she helped name our three beautiful daughters: Audrey, Reagan, and Kennedy. I took those initials from some of my toughest “clients” to help start a company. Yes, you may have noticed that 2 of our daughters have the names of US presidents. But what about Audrey? Well, I think she’s going to become president. But, back to ARK's genesis. I created ARK Consulting Partners, LLC because some of my most rewarding days were spent continuously taking care of several amazing clients. These clients are some of the smartest and hardest working people in the industry. Women and men who weren’t afraid of embarking on a business transformation. Eager to embrace change and challenge the status quo, these industry experts trusted me to consistently deliver software solutions in the most efficient way possible.
