Jessica Lessin founded The Information in 2013 to build the next, leading business news publication. Since then, The Information has become essential reading for hundreds of thousands of professionals across industries for its in-depth, hype-free reporting about technology and the industries it is disrupting.
Today, The Information is one of the fastest-growing news businesses in the world and has offices in San Francisco, New York, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C.
In 2018, Fast Company named The Information one of the "Most Innovative Media Companies" for its commitment to deeply reported journalism. The team has won numerous journalism awards for coverage of sexual harassment in Silicon Valley, safety concerns surrounding autonomous vehicles, the shady tactics of private tech investing and much more.
Before starting The Information, Jessica was an award winning journalist at the Wall Street Journal for eight years. She was part of the team of reporters that was a finalist for a Pulitzer Prize for a 2011 series on digital privacy. The team won a 2011 public service award from the Society of Professional Journalists for the same series.
She is a contributor to CNBC and has appeared on NPR, CNN and programs including PBS’s “The Charlie Rose Show.”
Jessica graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in 2005 and lives in San Francisco with her family.

New: Anthropic has unveiled its latest artificial intelligence model: Claude Sonnet 4.5. The model is better at coding, using computers and meeting practical business needs, Anthropic said. It also excels in specialized fields like cybersecurity, finance and research. Claude Sonnet 4.5. comes just months after Anthropic launched Claude Opus 4.1 in and Claude Sonnet 4. It’s the latest example of the breakneck pace of innovation within the AI industry. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy released his annual shareholder letter on Thursday, focusing again on AI but also the necessity of speedier deliveries. He struck a far more reflective tone than prior letters, expounding on the reasons behind Amazon's ambition and drive to win. AI is expensive, he acknowledged, but ""Our customers, shareholders, and business will be well-served by our investing aggressively now" The company also published its proxy statement -- Jassy's total compensation went up to $40M from $29M last year and Amazon once again urged stakeholders to reject all eight shareholder proposals. Notably -- and following industry trends -- Amazon removed all references to "diversity, equity and inclusion" in its proxy statement, which had numbered 21 in last year's report. It even scrubbed DEI as areas of expertise for two of its board directors, attorney Jamie S. Gorelick and Jonathan J. Rubinstein. What do you make of all this?
