I wrapped up Q3 at 107% of my quarterly quota 😁 , but like clockwork, I’m back to square one. There’s nothing quite like the first day of a new quarter to bring you back down to Earth—Salesforce leaderboard wiped clean, and now it’s anyone’s game. And yes, on October 1st, he asked me what day it was... I said, "It’s Q4." (Mean Girls fans, you know what I’m talking about). Welcome to Q4—the fastest, most unpredictable, and arguably the most critical quarter of the year. As I dive into it, here are a few key lessons from my Q3 success: Patience is key. Your customer will always notice if you’re pushing to close for your own gain. Let the process breathe. Relationships sell. No product is flawless, but a strong customer connection can make it seem that way. When they trust you, the product practically sells itself. Deadlines matter. Nail down a specific signing date. Forget the vague “EOM” talk—pick a date and stick to it. No moving goalposts!! Meticulous follow-up: Promptly send follow-up emails, deliver on promised resources, and ensure no customer is left waiting in an unresolved email chain. Stay adaptable. Q4 moves fast, and so should you. Be ready to pivot when the unexpected happens—flexibility can make the difference between closing the deal or losing it.
