Lillian Cao liked thisLillian Cao liked thisI previously shared a simple framework we use at Mojo for thinking about the path to product-market fit: Pain → Value → Pull. Do you have evidence customers feel the pain, evidence your solution creates value, and evidence the market is pulling it out of your hands? I've been using it with founders as a diagnostic, and it's more useful than I expected. Score your venture 1-5 on each ladder. The scores aren't the point though. The real question is 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁? One founder had strong Pain and Value scores but a flat Pull score - users liked the product but weren't coming back. That reframed the whole conversation from "build more features" to "figure out why retention isn't sticking." Once you know the constraint, the next question gets a lot clearer: what evidence do you need next, and how can you get it? I've attached the scoring framework if you want to try it on your own venture. We also put together a companion sheet with example customer interview questions for every rung. Comment below or send me a note and I'll share it.

In my session, "The Myth of Rational Adoption," I will challenge the idea that strong clinical data alone drives adoption. Using real oncology launch examples, we will explore how decisions are made in practice, and what it takes to turn evidence into confidence, uptake, and meaningful patient impact. Looking forward to a thought-provoking discussion with industry peers. #PHLEXUS #Oncology #LaunchExcellence #PatientImpact #LifeSciences

Lillian Cao liked thisLillian Cao liked thisThe more time I spend online, the more I crave a room full of people. Technology has changed almost everything about how we connect. But it hasn't changed what actually builds relationships. Last week’s event was a wonderful reprieve and reminder of the importance of in-person connection. I was delighted to co-host a summer celebration for our Seaside Charms Collection with Camille Kostek in the Hamptons, and the room was full of accomplished, creative women who were genuinely glad to be in the same room together. Just an inspiring group, genuine enthusiasm, and good energy. Camille's relationship with Brilliant Earth goes back further than this campaign, and it's a relationship that's only deepened, which made her the natural choice to celebrate this launch. She's warm and inclusive, with the ability to make everyone in a room feel like they belong there, which is exactly what we try to be as a brand and a quality I don't think you can manufacture or fake. The collection itself felt right for the moment, too. Charms are whimsical and playful by nature. You mix them, you add them, you don't overthink them. In a world that can take itself very seriously, there's something valuable about a piece of jewelry that reminds you to be yourself and, above all, have fun doing it. I left that evening thinking about how special rooms like that are, and how much I want to keep building reasons to fill them. As we head into the last stretch of summer, I hope you're spending time with the people and places that matter to you and making a few memories of your own along the way.

Lillian Cao liked thisLillian Cao liked thisI am honored to be featured in Carnegie Mellon's short film. It was a wonderful surprise to see the story come full circle at graduation and through Jensen Huang’s commencement address. It has been an extraordinary year to study AI! Models became markedly better at reasoning and coding, new tools appeared one after another, and what was possible kept expanding. The way we worked changed from month to month. I learned to move between models, tools, and coding agents almost as if I were working with a small AI team. Within months, I went from my first GitHub commit to building agents, retrieval systems, evaluation frameworks, and real-time data pipelines. Along the way, I developed a deep appreciation for the open-source ecosystem that made such rapid learning and building possible. I am grateful to the CMU faculty and classmates who made the experience so meaningful. I keep experimenting. Curious about what I can learn and try next! https://lnkd.in/gT-UKbPS #CMU #AppliedAI #ContinuousLearningFrom Stanford MBA to AI Systems Management at Carnegie MellonFrom Stanford MBA to AI Systems Management at Carnegie Mellon

Lillian Cao liked thisLillian Cao liked thisAfter nearly 17 years with Novo Nordisk, I am sharing that my time with the company recently concluded. It has truly been the privilege of my career to serve as VP/Head of Pricing, Contract Operations & Reimbursement (PCOR) for the US business and to work alongside so many talented, caring, and mission‑driven colleagues. I am deeply grateful to the exceptional teams across PCOR, MAPA (Market Access/Public Affairs), Commercial, Legal and Finance & Operations. Your partnership, integrity, and commitment to patients made every challenge meaningful and every success shared. Thank you to so many colleagues that have reached out to me over these past weeks - I am deeply touched by all the notes of appreciation which I will never forget. I want to especially recognize my previous managers — Ulrich Otte, Karsten Munk Knudsen, and Lars Green — for their unwavering support, proactive leadership, transparency, and steadfast commitment to the Novo Nordisk Way. Their guidance and mentorship shaped my journey and strengthened my belief in what principled leadership can achieve. Looking back, I am proud of the work we accomplished together: • Securing broad patient access to Novo Nordisk medicines • Establishing GLP‑1s as foundational therapy in the U.S. • Helping the company grow from a mid‑sized manufacturer (often confused with Novartis!) into the most valuable pharma company based in Europe • Navigating seismic policy shifts in U.S healthcare — from the Affordable Care Act to IRA Medicare MFP negotiations and MFN - and doing so with integrity and purpose. But what I am most proud of is the people. My commitment to teaching, developing talent, supporting careers, and watching colleagues grow into leaders has been the most meaningful part of my journey. The people, the purpose, and the shared commitment to improving patient lives made these years profoundly meaningful. I’m excited for what comes next and look forward to continuing to leverage my expertise in pricing, market access, revenue management and in leading teams to help organizations deliver meaningful, sustainable access for patients. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey and has made these years unforgettable! Farruq

Breaking: Belén Garijo Takes Sanofi CEO Helm, A Pharma Power Move That Signals Aggressive R&D Pivot 🚀 Sanofi’s Board just executed a seismic C-suite shakeup, appointing Belén Garijo as CEO effective immediately after declining to renew Paul Hudson’s contract. Hudson exits Feb 17 following 6 years of commendable transformation work – scaling Sanofi from €32B to €44B revenue while navigating COVID tailwinds – but clearly falling short on the next growth phase. Why Garijo is Pharma’s Ultimate Heavyweight: This isn’t just leadership continuity , it’s a strategic masterstroke. Garijo returns to Sanofi (15+ years tenure, Genzyme integration architect) with battle-tested CEO chops from Merck KGaA, where she became Germany’s first DAX40 female leader in 2021. Her track record? - R&D firepower, Oversaw Merck’s €1.5B+ neuro/pipeline acceleration - Integration excellence - Sanofi-Genzyme playbook mastery - Global ops - Europe/U.S. P&L leadership across Abbott/Sanofi/Merck - Board gravitas – BBVA + decade at L’Oréal Sanofi’s Playbook Under Garijo: Expect hyper-acceleration on immunology/rare disease focus, sharper Dupixent lifecycle management (€13B peak sales defense), and productivity blitzkrieg to fund next-gen modalities. Her Merck governance blueprint will tighten execution while unleashing innovation, critical as Sanofi eyes €20B+ R&D runway. Shareholder ratification April 29, 2026. Pharma’s new era begins NOW. #SanofiCEO #PharmaStrategy #R&DInnovation #LeadershipRevolution #GarijoEra #Dupixent #BigPharma #PharmaM&A #ExecutiveMoves #HealthcareLeadership
