Susan Li shared thisIt was truly an honor to chat with Fortune’s Sheryl Estrada and sit alongside some incredible women, including Block’s Amrita Ahuja, Nordstrom’s Anne Bramman, Workday’s Barbara Larson, and Estee Lauder’s Tracey Travis at Fortune's Most Powerful Woman Summit. It was inspiring to hear how each is helping to transform the role of the CFO! #FortuneMPW

Susan Li posted thisToday I’m sharing the news that I’ll be taking on the role of Meta's Chief Financial Officer effective November 1. I joined Meta 14 years ago, back when we were a handful of Facebook employees scattered across a few buildings in downtown Palo Alto. I’ve been lucky to work at a company that has grown tremendously during my career, and to have worked with and learned from from an amazing set of colleagues and mentors including Mark, Sheryl, David Ebersman, and David Wehner, among many others. I am grateful to them for continually pushing me to take on new and meaningful challenges. In my time at Meta I’ve watched its impact on the world continue to grow exponentially. But at its core, the things that make this company special remain the same--in particular, the vibrant energy that comes from working with so many kind and talented people who believe deeply in the same mission. I can't imagine being anywhere else and I am excited for the work ahead.

Ten of those years were at Google, which he loved, but it was a long time to be at the same company. He was aware there were other options, but he didn't really know what he wanted to do next. In January 2024, Stewart left Google and felt prepared to take anywhere between six months and two years out to think about his career. Any longer wouldn't have been financially comfortable. Plus, in the fast-moving world of technology, he thought it might be hard to get back into the field after taking more than two years off. Eight months passed before he was back to work in a new role. Taking a break was really enjoyable, he says, and it's something he'd highly recommend. Susan Li liked thisSusan Li liked thisAfter fourteen years, today is my last day at Microsoft. When I joined in 2012, Satya Nadella was part of my interview loop. At the time, I thought I was coming from Cornell for an extended sabbatical. That two-year sabbatical became one of the defining chapters of my career. Microsoft gave me the opportunity to work across the full arc of technology, from research to infrastructure to products used every day by hundreds of millions of people. I joined to help build what was then called the Office Graph, a platform that became part of the foundation for the Microsoft Graph and now helps power AI experiences across Microsoft 365. I had the privilege of working with great teams to build the Teams messaging service, scale it during the pandemic, and bring AI into Teams to support everyday communication and collaboration. I also had the opportunity to lead Microsoft Research Redmond, working with remarkable researchers and helping connect long-term research with real-world product impact. More recently, I worked on the AI transformation of one of Microsoft’s largest product groups and on the infrastructure needed to serve AI at Microsoft scale. But what I will remember most is the people. I learned from outstanding managers and leaders, including Bjørn Olstad, Perry Clarke, Scott Van Vliet, Rajesh Jha, Raghu Ramakrishnan, Arun Ulag, and Jay Parikh, and I am grateful for their trust. I learned just as much from the teams I was fortunate to lead, from so many colleagues across Microsoft, and from customers who pushed us to think bigger and to make technology matter in the real world. Microsoft is a special company because of its people: their ambition, technical depth, generosity, and sense of mission. Leaving Microsoft is bittersweet, and I do so with deep gratitude. I will always be grateful for the work, the people, and the learning that shaped me over these fourteen years. At the same time, AI is creating a moment of reinvention for the entire industry. It felt like the right time to take that same spirit of reinvention seriously myself and to stretch in a very different environment. I will share more tomorrow. For now, I will just say that the next chapter will be quite a ride. Thank you, Microsoft.

For emerging markets teams our work week occasionally starts on Friday night or Saturday morning when we board a flight to be ready for Monday meetings on the other side of the world. Our markets are open for trading 24/6.5 and we work through and celebrate a global calendar of holidays. To my team who is traveling this US holiday weekend and all our global colleagues next to us on long haul flights, thank you for your passion, hard work and your time away from family and friends! From ideating and incubating, to building and scaling, it’s been years of purposeful work—done alongside colleagues and peers I deeply admire. Helping someone realize their full potential and operate at the top of their agency—whether they’re a peer, a friend, a colleague, or family—is, to me, the greatest calling. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of meeting extraordinary people and diving into meaningful conversations across tech, digital, AI, cyber, and business with this remarkable cohort. With immense joy, I’m transitioning the Chair role to Mamatha Chamarthi and the Vice Chair role to Diane Schwarz. They’ve been integral to this journey from the very beginning, and it’s deeply fulfilling to see them stepping into these roles and already shaping the next chapter. Congratulations, Mamatha and Diane! Angela Yochem Wafaa Mamilli Marina F Bellini Karen Higgins-Carter Edwina Payne, NACD.DC Jennifer Charters

Last night was Round 2 of the competition, with 25 teams pitching in the semi-finals. It was exciting to hear innovative business ideas from tomorrow's entrepreneurs! With my fellow judges, Mike Peng from Moon Creative Lab and Erin Lashbrook from JP Morgan, we heard everything from ways to battle climate change, to AI-powered solutions for UX design and fractional CFO services. Only 4 teams made it to tonight's final round. The creativity, enthusiasm, and can-do attitudes of the students were energizing, and I'm excited for the bright future the world has ahead with this generation of entrepreneurs!

We’re starting to see the age of “shoppertainment” take hold: content that entertains and converts—live shopping, creator-led drops, and social-first storefronts that collapse discovery into purchase. Southeast Asia is already proving the model at scale, and we’re seeing early signals of similar behavior emerging in the United States. I recently sat down with Deloitte Insights and IAB to talk about the future of advertising. 🤝 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 (𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 :) Venturing in Public 12/20/25 I talk to a lot of solo GPs and the solo founders, and I always think about how my experiences are so different. My first company had four founders. My second company had five. That's not to say that solo founding or GP can't work - it does in many cases. For a certain type of investor or founder, collaboration feels like friction - time wasted in meetings when they could be executing or generating IRR. I’ve been reflecting on this because in my career has been the exact opposite. I guess I've always enjoyed teamwork. At FC we have a large, collaborative partnership for a small fund. I don't know if this is just how my risk tolerance is wired, or if I just got lucky with the people, but I’ve always bet that the team beats the individual. I get that teams dilute your ownership. In my startup days, splitting equity four or five ways meant my slice of the pie was significantly smaller from Day 1. That is rare to see these days. In venture, being a Solo GP is the fastest path to personal wealth if you win. You keep the management fees; you keep the carry. At a collaborative firm, those economics get split. But I’ve never viewed that split as a "tax." I view it as the price of admission for building something that can endure. I’ve found that the "Team Dividend" vastly outweighs the dilution, specifically in two ways: Friction Sharpening the Sword: In a solo model, you have a clear point of view and you act. It’s efficient. But in a team, you have to "get to yes." Some see that as wasted energy but I see it as quality control. Whether it's debating a product roadmap or a Series A investment, having partners who challenge your biases forces you to sharpen your thinking. The friction prevents you from believing your own hype. The "Bad Day" Buffer: Startups and venture are rollercoasters. When you are solo, a bad day is an existential crisis. When you have partners, one person can be down while the other is up. I always try divide and conquer. Five founders meant we could swarm problems and a founder could touch all functions. In Venture, I have blind spots. When I miss something, a partner catches it. When I’m burned out, the firm keeps moving. There is immense pride in the solo journey, and for some, the internal dialogue is sharper than any group discussion. Their superpower is singular vision. But for me, the joy of this business isn't just in the winning - it's in the shared experience of the build. I’ve found that while I might own a smaller piece of the pie, the team makes the pie bigger, the probability of success higher, and the journey a hell of a lot more fun. Are you wired for the speed of solo or the resilience of a squad?

What stands out to me is not simply that Meta is changing its products, but that the conversation around responsibility is finally changing as well. Protecting young users shouldn’t become a competitive talking point between platforms it should be a shared industry standard. Real progress will ultimately be measured by what these companies actually change, not by the open letters they publish.

What a start to 2026 at Meta! So many exciting announcements—from Meta Compute’s bold plans to build tens of gigawatts of AI infrastructure, to welcoming Dina Powell McCormick as our new president, and the groundbreaking work at Meta Superintelligence Labs, where we’re developing personal superintelligence. Lots of momentum as I head to Davos next week; believe it or not, this will be my tenth year attending. I was just reflecting on how much things have changed since 2016. We’d just launched Instagram Ads. Short-form video didn’t exist yet, but video was starting to explode. Our shift from desktop to mobile was still a major talking point. Fast forward to today: We’re entering #WEF26 with an incredible AI-powered story. AI is supercharging everything at Meta—helping businesses grow, connecting people in new ways, and powering wearables that seamlessly integrate into your life and understand your world. So while the products have changed, one thing hasn’t: Meta is still at the forefront—reshaping how the world works, plays, connects, and does business. Hope to see some of you there. I’ll be sharing updates and insights from the ground. Stay tuned for what’s next.

Meta introduces stock options to executive compensation for the first time, targeting key leaders like CFO Susan Li, CTO Andrew Bosworth, and COO Javier Olivan, alongside USD 170 million in RSUs vesting quarterly. Options require aggressive share price hurdles—88% gain for initial tranche, sixfold for maximum—aligning C-suite incentives with Zuckerberg's generative AI supremacy push through 2031. This responds to fierce talent wars with OpenAI and DeepMind, where Meta deploys hundred-million packages for elite AI researchers. Excited to share the recipients of the AI Glasses Impact Grants from Meta, celebrating 30 organizations across the U.S. using AI glasses to help people work safer, learn faster, and live more independently. As a parent of a special needs kid, the accessibility and independence use cases here hit close to home. This is the kind of technology application that genuinely excites me. At Meta, we believe the future is for everyone. The nearly $2M program awarded funding to organizations across 18 states, spanning accessibility, workforce safety, education, agriculture, and economic opportunity. Excited to be at the NABA Conference this week as a panellist on the Skills of the Future. The finance function is being reshaped in real time. Automation, AI, and new operating models are redefining what it takes to lead. Working inside an AI-native company like Meta, I see this shift up close every day. Looking forward to getting into it. This is going to be an electric conversation. See you there! https://nabainc.org/ #NABAConference #SkillsOfTheFuture

Bringing edge compute platforms like Jetson Nano into elementary classrooms is a total masterclass in hands on learning. True AI literacy isn't about memorizing abstract code, it's about physical feedback loops where kids see software turn into real world movement. Tech hits its best version in education when it moves from passive consumption to an actual tool for human creation
