The main aim of the project is to increase the economic productivity of the region by installing
sawmills to allow for the processing of raw wood from the nearby forests.

The project worked towards identifying the most optimal sources of
energy based on the needs of the village and the geographical and economic factors which
determine the possible energy sources to consider.

With rapidly expanding autonomous vehicle programs currently underway, this project was undertaken to model the process of converting a 2017 Mercedes E300 sedan into a parallel hybrid electric vehicle and subsequently analyzing performance. The motivation behind the conversion to a hybrid stems from reaping the benefits of the higher fuel economy. This would benefit the customer (the company operating the autonomous vehicle fleet) in two ways:

    1. It would allow them to reduce down time spent on refueling and driving passengers
    2. It would reduce overall cost of fuel for the fleet.

The attached project report details background research, component sizing and selection process, control strategy design, and Simulink modeling and results.
