Tom Corcoran reposted thisTom Corcoran reposted thisAs an event professional, trade shows have become my go-to resource for discovering trusted service providers, innovative products, and fresh ideas. 💡 Whether you’re exhibiting for the first time or you’re a seasoned exhibitor, a few simple best practices can make all the difference. Trade Show Do’s & Don’ts ✅ DO • Make your booth inviting and easy to navigate. • Train your team to engage in conversations—not sales pitches. • Have a clear message attendees can understand in seconds. • Collect leads with a follow-up plan already in place. • Create an experience people will remember. ❌ DON’T • Sit behind the table looking at your phone. • Overcrowd your booth with excessive signage or giveaways. • Forget that every visitor deserves a warm greeting. • Wait for attendees to approach you—be proactive. • Let great conversations end without a meaningful next step. Trade shows are about far more than booths and giveaways. They’re opportunities to build relationships, strengthen your brand, and create connections that lead to future business. As event professionals, we know exceptional events are built on the smallest details. Depending on the industry, those details—and the opportunities to make a lasting impression—can multiply quickly. What trade show tip would you add to this list?

White Sox legend and 1983 AL Rookie of the Year, Ronald D. Kittle, stopped by our suite to say hello! Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey. Here's to the next inning (😉) together! Tom Corcoran reposted thisTom Corcoran reposted thisAs I shared earlier today, I have decided to pursue an independent candidacy for the Michigan State University Board of Trustees. After posting that announcement, I realized something that feels especially meaningful. Today is Father's Day. My dad was one of the biggest Spartans I've ever known and my biggest supporter in everything I did. Michigan State University was something we shared. It gave us countless memories, endless conversations, and a bond that will always be part of who I am. As I take this step, I find myself thinking about him a lot today. The truth is, nobody would be more proud of me for making this run than he would be. I wish I could call him and tell him about the decision. I wish I could hear his thoughts, his advice, and probably a reminder to work harder than everyone else. Instead, I'll carry those lessons with me. Today, I'm grateful for the example he set, the values he passed on, and the love he had for Michigan State. No matter where this journey leads, I know one thing: He'd be all in. Happy Father's Day, Dad. I miss you every day. Go Green. 💚

Tom Corcoran reposted thisTom Corcoran reposted thisA lot of people see the Michigan State University Trademarks and Licensing apparel. What they don't always see is the reason behind it. Every Spartan™ wasn't created because the world needed another clothing brand. It was created because too many people have spent too much time feeling unseen. As someone living with muscular dystrophy, using a wheelchair, and relying on a tracheostomy and ventilator after a life-changing hospitalization in 2019, I've experienced firsthand how important representation can be. When I could no longer continue the career I loved at Michigan State University, I had a choice: focus on what was lost, or build something new. Every Spartan™ became that something new. A brand rooted in inclusion, accessibility, storytelling, and the belief that Spartan pride belongs to everyone. That's why we offer traditional and adaptive apparel side by side. That's why we tell stories. That's why we're building a community. Because every Spartan deserves to feel represented. This is bigger than apparel. This is about belonging. Every Ability. Every Moment. Every Spartan. 💚 🌐 everyspartanapparel.com 📱 Every Spartan

It was a privilege to be part of the TNT Sports U.S. research team for the second straight year and working with many of the game’s top broadcasters in the Court Philippe-Chatrier booth, including play-by-play announcers Brian Anderson, Alex Faust and Patrick McEnroe along with analysts Jim Courier, John McEnroe and Lindsay Davenport. Zverev defeated Italian Flavio Cobolli in five sets to become the first German man to lift The Coupe des Mousquetaires trophy since 1937 and the first German man to win a major singles title since Boris Becker at the Australian Open in 1996. It was also the first time the Roland-Garros men’s final went five sets for three consecutive years since 1960-62. In one of the best matches of the tournament, Brazilian teenager Joao Fonseca rallied from two sets down in the third round to defeat 24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic en route to the quarterfinals. Andreeva, 19, defeated Polish qualifier Maja Chwalinska in straight sets to become the youngest Roland-Garros women’s champion since Monica Seles in 1992. TNT Sports’ expansive U.S. Roland-Garros coverage, the second of a 10-year deal, was delivered across TNT, truTV, HBO Max & Bleacher Report. “The Mac Zone” with John and Patrick McEnroe was a popular hit during the first week at Roland-Garros.

Phenix City, Alabama is just one win away from the U.S. Championship game at the Little League World Series, and Kinley Rasmus has become one of the tournament’s most compelling stories. What makes Kinley’s story so special is that she isn’t there as a novelty. She’s there because she can flat out play baseball. She is one of Phenix City’s top performers, making an impact with her arm, bat, and glove. She’s the kind of player every coach wants on the field, regardless of gender. This one is especially fun for our family. My wife is originally from Phenix City, and we’re rooting for this team to recreate some of the magic of 1999. That year, Kinley’s dad, Cory Rasmus, and her uncle, Colby Rasmus, helped Phenix City win the U.S. Championship and advance to the LLWS World Championship game. Their coach was Kinley’s grandfather, Tony Rasmus. Now, 27 years later, another generation of the Rasmus family is making its mark in Williamsport. For young girls who love baseball, seeing Kinley compete on this stage sends a powerful message: talent, preparation, hard work, and determination matter more than stereotypes. Barriers only get broken once. But when they are, they can open doors for everyone who follows. What barriers have you seen broken in your career that opened doors for the next generation?

Give me five minutes walking an expo hall floor and I’ll notice: * Everyone standing behind the table or counter * Messaging that makes me ask, “So…what do you actually do?” * No one making eye contact * A booth with no one at it * Trash becoming part of the booth design * Candy bowls doing the heavy lifting * The inevitable wrinkled tablecloth None of these things are deal-breakers on their own. But together, they tell me something about how a company is showing up. And that matters. The goal isn’t to capture every person walking the aisle. It’s to be ready when the right person walks by because building your pipeline doesn’t always announce itself. That might happen at 9:15 a.m. when doors have opened and the floor is packed. It might happen during the slow afternoon lull when you’re wondering if attendees ever returned to the venue after lunch. Or, it might be the person who wanders through during the last 15 minutes while everyone else is packing up. You just don't know. That's why I believe every minute in the expo hall is part of the pipeline. The booth doesn't get to “check out” because traffic slows down. Your team doesn't get to stop being approachable because the day is almost over. And your demo presentation doesn't get a pass because you're tired. Events are a long game. You're building recognition. Starting conversations. Creating familiarity. Giving your sales team a reason to follow up. So I'm curious: What's the first thing you notice when you walk into an expo hall? And what's the one booth behavior that makes you think, “Yep…they're doing this right.”?

From behind-the-scenes production tools to cutting edge AI and spatial computing, the energy in the room proved why Chicago’s creative tech ecosystem is a force to be reckoned with. Here are a few major takeaways from the event: Day 1 took a deep dive into what actually happens behind the scenes in music and film production. (I learned more in this one day than I ever knew about film and music as business): Music Tech & Ops: Discussions went far beyond writing and performing to focus on review and iteration cycles, production nuances, smart promotion, metadata track labeling, and complex rights management. Film & Storytelling: We explored the key structural differences between short-form advertising narratives and episodic storytelling designed to keep audiences hooked week after week, alongside the critical mechanics of pre-planning, location scouting, and principal photography. Pitch Competition: Huge congratulations to all the pitch competition participants! A special shoutout to Scott Lynch & LOCCOL for taking home the grand prize, and to Gigs for winning the Audience Choice Award! Day 2 pivoted toward the power of AI, digital twins, and intelligent media systems reshaping how we create and interact: Automated Media Analysis: From digital twins to automated music analytics, AI is opening up entirely new workflow efficiencies. AI Engine in XR: We explored how AI directly impacts user experience, development pipelines, and content creation in XR. Foundational Spatial Tech: AI isn't just generating content, it powers the very foundation of XR through real-time location, image, hand, and body tracking, while unlocking deeper insights from VR/AR data streams. Thank You to the Community A massive thank you to the 2112 Creative Industries Incubator team for bringing everyone together, to all our incredible community partners - in particular World Business Chicago - and to the sponsors who made this summit possible: 🔹 Dell Technologies 🔹 NVIDIA 🔹 The Coleman Foundation 🔹 GoodChaos Thank you to everyone who spoke, attended, and connected over the two days. I have so much follow up to do it's mind boggling. #ChicagoTech #MediaTech #EntertainmentIndustry #AI #XR #VirtualProduction #MusicTech #FilmProduction #2112Chicago #MidwestInnovation
