The mission at Expressive Arts Place is to use the arts to address the health, wellness, and education needs of individuals and communities. We believe that the arts are a powerful tool and strive to use them to bring communities together, address disparities in access to mental health, and advocate for social justice. We are looking for a therapist who can join our outpatient clinical team. We serve a variety of populations, but specialize in working with children, adolescents, women, and families with diverse ethnic backgrounds.
Job Description
The primary responsibility of the Training and Development Specialist is to create, develop, implement, and conduct training and development programs for employees and for clients of Expressive Arts Place’s various departments. Additionally, this position will be responsible for evaluating the efficacy of training materials and coordinating training needs.
Responsibilities
Assess training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, instructors, and customer representatives.
Create, organizes, plan, and present various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees and customers.
Develop unique training programs to fulfill workers specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
Create and/or acquire training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.
Present training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos.
Maintain records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
Assess training materials prepared by instructors.
Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
Maintain knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.
Prepare and implement training budget; maintains records and reports of expenses.
Other duties and special projects as needed
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related field required.
At Least Two Years Of Training Experience Required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills
Strong presentation skills.
Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
Ability to evaluate and research training options and alternatives.
Ability to design and implement effective training and development.
Should be open-minded, enthusiastic, adaptable, and flexible
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task
Possess strong skills in self-advocacy, independence, and initiative
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Reliable with patience and professionalism
Commitment to social justice and equity
Ability to work effectively and respectfully within diverse work environment
