ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Business Development Manager is at the forefront of the company's transition in the Americas market towards a sustainable future, championing the sales of green propulsion technology solutions. Reporting directly to the Head of Sales and Service of Green, this role combines a good technical understanding with exceptional sales acumen to position the company in the assigned geographical territory as a leader in sustainable propulsion technologies.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:


Knowledge

  • Mastery over the technical aspects of sustainable propulsion technologies and their integration into various market segments.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the local competitive landscape and ability to position the company's green solutions in the market.


Problem Solving

  • Advise on sales strategies and implement agreed upon Green-sales strategies to expand the green propulsion technology portfolio across various markets in the respective region.
  • Address challenges related to market adoption, customer apprehensions and technical integrations of green technologies in the assigned territory and coordinates with sales organization.


Communication

  • Represent the company's green vision to amplify market reach.
  • Engage with potential and existing clients, understanding their needs, and positioning the company's green solutions as optimal choices.
  • Represent ’Green’ at exhibitions & association meetings.
  • Inform Regional Leaders about progress, new products/solutions & Go-to-market strategies.
  • Foster internal communication on Green to ensure alignment with the local- as well as with green sales organization.


Accountability

  • Owns the sales revenue, P&L targets, and growth metrics for the green propulsion technology segment, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.
  • Oversee local sales operations, ensuring optimal resource allocation, training of the existing sales force to achieve targets.
  • Enable green sales organization in terms of e.g. tech updates, ways of working & business development.
  • Foster cross & upselling potential of products & solutions.
  • Collaborate with local cross-functional teams to ensure product offerings are in sync with market demand and technical capabilities.
  • Is responsible for a sales budget in the region.
  • Maintain CRM System with data input and accuracy.


Impact

  • Play a pivotal role in driving the regional transition from a diesel engine company to a leader in sustainable propulsion technologies.
  • Assist the Head of Sales & Service in directly influencing the company's market positioning, revenue streams, and brand reputation in the green technology segment.
  • Assist in shaping the future of sustainable propulsion technologies in the industry and setting benchmarks for competitors.

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A


Travel Demands: Anticipated domestic and international travel is approximately 60-70% depending on business needs.



EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:


Required:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Sales, Business, Engineering, or a related field or equal qualifications.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in sales roles, with preferably substantial exposure to green or sustainable technology sales or similar experience in start-up environments
  • Demonstrated success in leading sales transformations, particularly in industries undergoing technological shifts.
  • Proficient regional market and industry expertise within the green or sustainable (propulsion) technology segment.


Preferred:

  • Other education or certifications in Sustainable Technologies or Green Energy are an advantage.
