About Children of America (COA) We're a national company with a special blend of people, principles and pride that makes the COA rich in diversity and strength. Our program serves preschool children 6 weeks - 12 years of age. Programs include, Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-K, Before and After Care and Summer Camp.

Job Summary: The Director of Training and Development is responsible for spearheading the strategy, design, and execution of training, learning, and development programs across a multi-site organization. The primary objective of this role is to enhance employee performance and skillsets at all levels by identifying training needs, crafting customized development programs, and ensuring effective training delivery across the company. The Director collaborates closely with senior leadership, department heads, and HR partners to ensure training initiatives align with organizational goals, empowering employees to grow and succeed in their roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the company's learning and development strategy, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
  • Identify organizational training needs through management consultations, performance evaluations, and employee feedback.
  • Design, deliver, and assess impactful training programs, including leadership development, technical skills training, soft skills enhancement, and compliance education.
  • Lead and manage a team of training specialists and instructional designers.
  • Partner with department heads to create tailored learning paths for different functions and roles.
  • Track and measure the effectiveness of training initiatives using performance metrics, retention rates, and feedback mechanisms.
  • Oversee the training budget, ensuring cost-effective program delivery without compromising quality.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and incorporate new learning technologies, methods, and best practices.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous learning and professional development across the organization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Education, Organizational Development, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • 8-10 years of experience in learning and development, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale training programs across multi-site operations.
  • Strong understanding of learning management systems (LMS) and instructional design principles.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Occasional travel
