Summary: Ensures achievement of regional sales goals and profit objectives through effective management of the broker organization for the Western sales region.

Job Duties

  • Through effective organization, motivation and management skills delivers the annual sales and profit planned for the assigned sales regions.
  • Develops, in conjunction with the sales agency partners, promotional strategies and tactical plans at the account level that deliver the company’s sales, profit and distribution objectives.
  • Reviews market strategies to identify new customers and new business opportunities. Develops and implements sales plans/programs designed to increase market share.
  • Utilizing syndicated and shipment data, provides business and pack recommendations to the sales leadership team that will support sales and market share growth.
  • Ability to penetrate assigned account accounts at the director and VP level in order to facilitate annual business reviews and JBPs.
  • Attends to general administrative duties. These include, but are not limited to:
    • Maintaining up to date information in the promotional planner
    • Providing the monthly sales forecast at the account and pack level
    • Maintaining trade rate at or below target levels via the planning tool
    • Providing weekly business update to the VP of Sales
    • Timely submission of expense reports
    • Monthly store audit submission
    • Monthly review of syndicated data with the greater sales team
    • Annual and Semiannual sales agency reviews
  • Works with sales operations, marketing, broker team and distributors in developing and executing the national sales campaign for the distribution of Nissin Foods multicultural items. These items are sold and distributed via third party distributors to grocery and mass retailers and merchandised in their distributor sections.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Manages sales agency partners within assigned sales region. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these agencies. Conducts annual and semiannual agency reviews. Provides recommendations as to staffing of key roles within these agencies.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Marketing. Master’s preferable but not required. Minimum of seven year’s sales management experience, with a proven track record of sales agency management.

Management Skills: Ability to motivate, lead and direct third party sales organizations.

Analytical Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret syndicated and shipment data. Draw conclusions and address issues and or make recommendations based on that data.

Communication / Presentation Skills: Ability to effectively present company initiatives to the trade and sales agency partners. Comfort around senior management of both Nissin Foods and assigned trade partners when presenting.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and margins. Ability to accurately utilize syndicated and shipment data to forecast sales accuracy at a 95% level.

Organization / Planning Skills: Strong ability to organize and manage a large sales territory and deliver multiple assignments all at the same time. Ability to plan effectively and well in advance in order to deliver company objectives.

Negotiation Skills: Ability to effectively negotiate pricing, listing fees and terms with trade partners that drive growth and profitability.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have at a minimum intermediate capabilities with the suite of Microsoft Office products; especially Excel, Power Point and Word.

Other Qualifications: Must be able to travel 50% - 60% of the time.

Work Environment: This is a home office based job. Requires frequent airplane and car travel. Significant time spent sitting behind a desk while performing administrative tasks.
