Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Design and layout high density printed circuit boards (PCBs) using Cadence Allegro / Siemens PADS
  • Design multilayer stack-ups (up to 86+ layers, various materials and design rules) using various CAD systems
  • Generate all output files required to manufacture, assemble and test the final product
  • Understand and calculate controlled impedance of Strip-line, Micro-strip and Differential pair using impedance calculators
  • Route single ended and differential routes and length adjust to meet timing
  • Place high density and high quantity (up to 10000+) of components
  • Design Power / Ground planes and Power sensing nets
  • Implement and optimize blind and buried Vias
  • Import of IDF and other Mechanical Design Engineering software
  • Generate and maintain Fabrication documentation
  • Create and Export ODB++ manufacturing documents
  • Develop new processes or significantly enhance existing ones, documenting changes as needed
  • Support fully automated design and methodology development, including auto-routing
  • Design and Layout Digital, Analog, and Mixed Signal layouts
  • Experience with sequential lamination processing a plus
  • Experience with Mentor Valor a plus
  • Experience with highly sensitive circuits and shielding a plus
  • Experience with high speed signals and clocks (up to 10GHz and beyond) a plus
  • Ability to produce schematics for designs a plus
  • Be an expert in the field, understand current technologies and emerging technologies in PCB manufacturing
  • Work with internal R&D team on as required basis to help with development, PCB material, technology and methodology choices.

Education, Experience And Skills Required

  • Associate’s degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical or equivalent degree
  • 6+ years of PCB Design experience
  • Minimum of 6 years experience working in PCB layout design.
  • Minimum of 6 years experience working in a high-tech, high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience designing PC boards utilizing CAD engineering design software.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform design and layout of PCB boards using IPC or other industry standards.
  • Experience with Excel to manipulate large data files for presentation to customers or automated input to CAD
  • SKILL and other machine language scripting expertise a plus
  • RF and MLO/MLC design experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in a mechanical design CAD system and ability to produce medium to complex mechanical drawings a plus
  • Detail oriented

  • Ability to read and understand technical documents

WORK ENVIRONMENT

May be required to visit a clean room environment wearing appropriate PPE

The pay range for this role in Carlsbad CA is between $41.70 and $52.15 per hour. The pay range may differ in other locations. FormFactor maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
