Overview

GitHub Expert Services is looking for a talented individual to help manage our Enterprise and US Public Sector engagements with our customers. As a Senior Program Manager, you will work closely with our Professional Services delivery teams to ensure that large, multi-dimensional projects are completed with consistent high quality while ensuring that customer expectations are being met or exceeded. The keys to success in this role are strong leadership skills, ability to solve problems creatively, and communication with clarity & empathy.

For this role, you will be working closely with US federal agencies. You must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the delivery and success of major IT transformation programs within large US federal agencies and enterprise customers generally spanning years of work.
  • Own the relationship with both internal and external stakeholders and be comfortable working in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Build and drive project delivery plans and schedules with Service Delivery engineers, and customers across multiple workstreams.
  • Track project statuses using GitHub’s platform and communicate internal and customer expectations while monitoring project progress.
  • Proactively assess and manage project risks appropriately.
  • Lead both client and internal status meetings and updates with both GitHub and Microsoft stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and manage client expectations and scope of work as needed.
  • Understand GitHub Expert Services offerings and their business outcomes to drive successful adoption and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a consistently high level of client satisfaction; raise and address issues proactively, supporting client expectations and goals while keeping the business in mind.
  • Work on the bleeding edge of technology in the AI era creating customer adoption roadmaps for these technologies.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years project management experience with large transformational IT projects with US federal agencies as a federal employee or contractor.
  • Experience working with and authoring reports for C-suite executive audiences.
  • Experience planning large programs spanning multiple projects and aligning these projects to a unified vision.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. Ability to meet GitHub, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Failure to maintain or obtain the appropriate clearance and/or customer screening requirements may result in employment action up to and including termination.
  • Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and work and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport, or other approved documents, or verified US government clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in managing projects related to DevOps, CI/CD best practices or GitHub Advanced Security preferred.
  • Hands-on experience in working with GitHub is a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of the FedRAMP program and its requirements.
  • Familiarity with Github Platform

Compensation Range

The base salary range for this job is USD $89,200.00 - USD $236,600.00 /Yr.

These pay ranges are intended to cover roles based across the United States. An individual's base pay depends on various factors including geographical location and review of experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant. At GitHub certain roles are eligible for benefits and additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These rewards are allocated based on individual impact in role. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role.
