Do You Know How to Be Filled With Life?

Do You Know How to Be Filled With Life?

Scriptures:

John 1:1–9, Psalm 23, 1 Samuel 15:32–34

I said a little prayer to help my understanding.

Help me hear what You want me to hear. I know you have me covered under Your wings. Amen.

John 1:1–9

I have always loved this part of the Bible.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1, NIV)

Then verse 4 spoke to me.

In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. (John 1:4, NIV)
Life — that’s what God wants for us.

John uses the word “life” 36 times in this gospel of John.

God has given us the gift of life through Jesus Christ.

Psalm 23

Today my focus seemed to be on “life”.

Verse 6

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever. (Psalm 23: 6, NIV)
We are promised life through Christ.

God will always be with us. And we will live with Him always.

1 Samuel 15:32–34

I was confused at first how this was about the “life” I thought God was speaking to me about.

However, after rereading a few times I saw this more clearly.

And Samuel put Agag to death before the LORD at Gilgal. (1 Samuel 15:33, NIV)
God has power over life and death.

Saul disobeyed God. Samuel follows through with what God had said to do. He got rid of the sin — the bad influence on Israel. Agag — is sin.

We are full of sin, apart from God. We need Jesus.

Thoughts

God speaks to us.

His Word contains rules to live by.

God’s Word contains life for us if we repent of our sins and give ourselves to Jesus.

God hates sin.

We have to slay the sin. Take control of what we do.

We are still apart from God is some sin is sitting inside us.

God helps find what that sin is — when He knows we are ready.

I am thankful that Jesus accepts our confessions and gives forgiveness. Once we have said, “We are all Yours, Lord, then we are His.”

Sin=Death

Jesus=Life

Jesus is our bridge between life and death.

May I pray for you and me?

Lord, we are grateful to serve our awesome God. A God who cares for us so much that He sacrificed His Son so we could live forever. We still sin. Please guide us to know when we sin so we can confess and get back into being with You. You promised us life through Jesus. Thank You so much. In His name, we pray. Amen.
