My favorite picture this week is from the first Overline founder event in #Nashville, hosted by our incredible venture scout, Zap ⚡️ Michael Cohn and I had the pleasure of spending the evening with our portfolio founder and guest speaker, Matthew Peltier, along with dozens of talented builders making it happen in Music City. Matt shared his inspiring founder journey and offered invaluable insights on fundraising, having raised significant $$$ for his previous startup before securing pre-seed funding for his new stealth venture. One of the standout moments was when Matt reminded founders in the room that fundraising isn’t the milestone — “it’s the oxygen we need to breathe, but not our purpose for living.” (Amen to that!) He also emphasized the importance of getting investors to “see the world as you do” and encouraged founders to remain “constantly optimistic yet rational.” Another crucial takeaway was to avoid letting valuation be the sole reason investors say no in the early stages.
