1693 MANAGING REACH in SPACE -Gautam Shah https://lnkd.in/d2QvJvW5 Reach capacities in interior spaces can be re-calibrated by using background-foreground contrasts, contrasting sensorial qualities, isolation through distancing, by differing rate of movements, stagnation, consistency, directionality, scaling, and other modulations. The exterior spaces, cannot be well comprehended by the reach capacities, except when, these as the neighbourhood areas, are occupied by objects to bridge the intervening areas.

The risk-it-all moments and the last-minute miracles... ... It must be time for Snakes and Ladders! 🐍 🐍 🐍 🐍 Join us at our Peckham studio to hear the behind-the-scenes story of DSDHA, told by founding director David Hills. Tickets are now available for our sixth event - and will be limited to 50 on a first-come, first-serve basis. 💎 Link in the comments 💎 About the event: Growing a successful business isn't a straight line from A to B. It's a journey littered with challenges, discovery, and forks in the road. In the moment, it can seem impossible to know which choices will fast-track you and which will set you back. At Snakes & Ladders, we explore it all. The lucky breaks and the costly blunders, the risk-it-all moments and the last-minute miracles, the darkest hours and the proudest achievements. Such candour isn't for the faint-hearted – but our speakers share the belief that there's a place for honest discussion about the realities of building a business. At Snakes & Ladders we bring together an audience hungry for real conversation and frank accounts of what goes on behind the scenes. On the night you can expect a relaxed, inclusive and forthright atmosphere. Enjoy opinions from outside the confines of architectural practice and a menu of cocktails served from The Tank, our speak-easy micro bar. #thursdaytherapy #snakesandladders #events #architecture #design #learning

🚗✨ Naming your Parking Day activation is key to how your community engages with the event! Choosing a broad, recognizable name instead of a specific address can prevent confusion and boost trust. 🔑 Clarity and Trust: A clear name, like a popular landmark, immediately conveys where the event is and helps people feel confident in the information. 📍 Encouraging Participation: An accurate name makes it easier for everyone to find and join in. If it's too specific or personal, potential attendees may hesitate. 🏆 Building Credibility: A thoughtfully chosen name gives your event a professional touch, showing that it’s a well-organized initiative rather than just a casual gathering. 📘 Last year, we made the mistake of naming our event after specific addresses, such as "6 or 7 Bernard Ave,". This approach caused confusion among neighbours; some doubted the posters and ads, thinking the event might be private or informal. In hindsight, we realized we should have chosen something broader, like "Avenue Rd & Bernard Ave," to clarify the location for everyone and build more trust in our event. 🌿 🌟 Arup, DTAH, Dubbeldam Architecture + Design, SvN Architects + Planners, MASSIVart #CommunityFirst #PublicSpaces #UrbanTransformation #BetterTogether #ParkingDay2024

Practical, local actions are outlined in the guide, that allow cities to engage meaningfully with local communities. Read the guide and transform your city: https://c40.me/3QJSHgb
