Speaking to #aNewWayToCity theme we love, it's great to see this news from one of our event hosts Mark A. Cleveland (who beat us to posting this news). Mark, together with Robert Hartline and Steven Buhrman are Hytch, LLC co-founders and creators of the technology recognized in 2018 by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation with the prized Sustainable Transportation Award. Also winner of the Tennessee Governor's Environmental Stewardship Award, Hytch has been continuously developed and is used today by the Greater Nashville Regional Council and the Tennessee Department of Transportation under a grant designed to facilitate an important pilot program, using public/private partnerships (P3) to address congestion while we get more people to job sites. Come learn how grant funding can help you motivate, measure and map smart mobility in the seven county area around #Nashville. If you care about growth in Middle Tennessee (or just want to access and enable the quality workforce in this region before your competitors do) come learn more about new incentives for employers of any size who are committed to helping their people share more rides and take mass transit to work. #Environment #Jobs #workforce #Mobility #TDM #SmartCities #transportation #Carpooling #Sustainability #Technology #Incentives
I'm happy to announce that Matt Meservy, PE, TDM-CP, Director of TDOT’s Planning Division will join us on stage as part of Nashville's Drive to Work, a Solutions Symposium on Friday, May 31st. Breakfast starts at 7:00 am and the agenda demands your attention! Thanks to organizations focused on enabling a regional approach to workforce development, technology and mobility solutions, this symposium is absolutely the first -- fully regional, if not state wide -- conversation in 2024. What could Matt have to share? I first worked with Matt when he was an executive at AECOM, evaluating TDOT opportunities to coordinate Transportation Demand Strategies. Hytch, LLC was focused on a new approach to commuter engagement. We didn't want to focus exclusively on big employers, in one city or one corridor and regulations that force big employers to act. Although the big employers should act, only the giants can afford expensive software and people to run it. We created a new #SAAS platform to deploy incentives at scale, paid directly to commuters. Now, even a small employer can offer transportation benefits. Today, Matt oversees a large portion of the state’s transportation plans and the studies that are helping achieve modal equity across the state. He is a Certified Transportation Demand Management Professional and Registered Engineer in Tennessee; and currently sits on the Association of Commuter Transportation’s Board of Directors, as well as the Transportation Research Board’s (TRB) TDM Committee. We held my monthly Ops Leaders meeting in our fantastic Darlington office today. One of the biggest decisions we made was to change the name of the meeting. How many meetings have you been to this year where there isn’t a conclusion? How much time do we waste? Our team have a tonne of things on the go, doesn’t everyone. The pensions industry is experiencing so much positive change that we are having to spin lots of plates whilst delivering first class services for our clients. We needed to rethink our approach; We’re removing obstacles and agreed our monthly ‘formal’ becomes our ‘Get stuff done’ (GSD). Have the debate in the room, get a consensus and do it. - **Focused Agendas:** Each GSD session will have a clear, actionable agenda circulated in advance. This means we hit the ground running, with everyone prepared to dive into tasks. - **Collaboration in Action:** We’ll break into smaller groups or pairs as needed, ensuring that every voice is heard and that we can tackle tasks or challenges more efficiently. - **Immediate Outcomes:** The goal is to conclude each session with tangible outcomes, whether it's a piece of completed work, a solution to a problem, or a decision that moves us forward. 📈 **The Bigger Picture:** This shift is more than just a change in our meeting format; it's a step towards fostering a culture of action, collaboration, and continuous improvement. We're here to make a difference, and the GSD sessions are set to be a key driver in achieving our team's goals and milestones. Looking forward to seeing this in action and to the incredible outcomes we’ll achieve together. Let’s make every moment count and turn our ideas into reality, one GSD session at a time! #TeamInnovation #GettingStuffDone #Collaboration #Efficiency #TeamGoals Claire Thistlethwaite Annette Jones Abdul Rashid Kerry Vollans Alexandra Plant Patrick Nickolls Judith Walker Ben Surr

We've all been there: So much to do, so little time to do it. 😩 This seems especially true for women in healthcare leadership, as we must manage our workload in the office and serve as the primary caregiver at home, managing the household, taking care of family members, volunteering in local organizations, and maintaining relationships. It is hard to be a woman in healthcare leadership, but we can succeed by following simple recommendations. One of our favorite strategies in The Healthcare "She" Suite is combining our to-do lists and calendars. 📅📝 It is too easy to put things off without having pre-specified time to finish the job. Merging the to-do list and calendar gives the user a clearer picture of the workload and ensures timely completion. So, fellow 'She' Suiters, let's take a moment to support each other. 💪 I invite you to block off 15 minutes on your calendar, read this insightful article from The Harvard Business Review, and then share how you manage your workload. By sharing our strategies and experiences, we can create a supportive community that empowers us all to thrive in our healthcare leadership roles. 🤝 https://lnkd.in/d8ZKjCt

Great to revisit book conclusions one year on. We focus on two points: 1 The Interdependence of Social Value and 2 A tool to Guide Decision Making across scales. More to follow on this in the coming days.
One year after publishing Reworking the Workplace, Cushman & Wakefield created the Companion Guide, a consultancy tool focused on guiding project decision-making through the City, Campus, and Building development scales.
