New Caledonia is an island located halfway between Australia and Fiji. It boasts the world's largest lagoon, six world heritage sites, and an incredible level of environmental and biological diversity. This is where Maël Imirizaldu grew up. Motivated to protect his home island, people, and the broader region Maël found a natural fit with Conservation International as the New Caledonia Marine Program Manager and more recently at Blue Nature Alliance as the Regional Lead of Pacific and Francophone Engagements.
