Building a controller function in Nodejs goes so much faster with GitHub Copilot! See the full code here: https://lnkd.in/gbhuN3UA

I mean.. isn’t it simpler to write the code directly instead of writing instructions for Copilot?

I like how easy openai integrations are. Here’s source for a python openai integration: https://github.com/CyberSentinels/discord-typecast-gpt-chatbot/tree/main/bot/services/openai

Its easier to just write the code rather than writing the comments. AI is better used to help you with your code as your pair programming partner rather than just writing the code it self.

Not a big fan of that use. As some people say in comments, with the time you write instructions, you can write the code. Using github copilot as an assistant to gain time while writing code is, in my opinion, better than let it write the entire code.

So far its easier to write it plainly, without the bot, - but it shows, which higher level constructs could be made native to the languages ...

In the time he take to write the instructions I already wrote the code myself. 😄

interested to see where Copilot is a year from now in terms of full SDLC workflows. IMHO, frameworks that hide the manual prompt engineering with optimal recipes, that can automatically go from SRS to HLD to code to tests.
