Associate Recruitment Consultant in USA Construction sector
Had an amazing day with the London team last week at Hyde Park! 🏏
Our cricket match was not only a blast but also a fantastic way to support the incredible work of the @PSP association which supports those affected by Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Corticobasal Degeneration.
Beyond the friendly competition (and some surprisingly inventive cricket skills!), I’m proud to be part of a team that works hard and supports meaningful causes.
P.S. If you’re wondering about our cricketing skills, let’s just say we might stick to recruitment—and leave the cricket to the pros!

Let us help Siyasanga change lives through rugby!
There is a man, who was a bloody good blind side flanker just a few years ago, has always been a remarkable person, and who is now putting in everything he can to change the lives of children living in poverty. Recently, he started the Mkiva Youth Rugby Academy, which he currently runs by himself.
His name is Siyasanga Mkiva and he is asking nothing in return. At least twice a week, Siyasanga helps to positively affect the potential of 18 primary school children from a township outside Fish Hoek, Cape Town. He does this by being a role model, coach, mentor, father figure, and carer who spends quality time with these kids. They either attend rugby skills training at a school offering their field, or run 5km to the beach and back, where they enjoy the simple yet wonderful pleasure of swimming in the cold and refreshing Atlantic ocean.
Here a beautiful video of Siyasanga and his story:
https://lnkd.in/didFDx3M
Siyasanga and I come long way, and I can assure you that investing in his academy means investing in the positive future of our youth. Between 2002 and 2006, we played togther in just shy of a 100 school and youth provincial rugby games, sharing hundreds of memories of laughs (Siya has an iefectious laugh), blood, sweat, and on a couple of occasions, tears.
Credens People Solutions (PTY) Ltd. , The 2006 Paul Roos Gymnasium / Gimnasium 1st & 2nd rugby teams (under the leadership of then captain Stephan van der Merwe), and Travis Coppin and his team at Food Lover's Market Holdings are helping where we can, but more help is needed. I have reached out to the Kolisi and Beast foundations, but have not yet received any responses.
If you also see the value of what Siyasanga is doing, please contact him directly at: siyasanga.mkiva@gmail.com to offer your support, even if it is just to let him know that he is not alone.
He has shared with me that currently his biggest needs are:
1. Transport for the children from the township to the rugby field
2. Tracksuits so that they can feel like a team
3. T-shirts
4. Shorts
5. Rugby balls and cones (no, not ice cream cones :)
6. Vests

Supporting local organisations is critical part of our annual social value plan. Enfield Ignatius Rugby Club provides grass roots support and coaching for youth teams (boys and girls). Our LHC framework place has enabled our business to grow and further support social value causes. #projectmanagement
OCG were pleased to be able to provide advice in relation to CDM Regulations 2015 to Enfield Ignatians Rugby Club for their much needed refurbishment plans, as part of the club development.
Our Project Assistant Vicky Tozer is personally associated with the club and used her 'Social Value' contribution for this very worthwhile project.

Game 6: Coventry City Football Club vs Preston North End Football Club in the EFL (English Football League). ⚽️
Not the result we were expecting last night. But nevertheless, Coventry Building Society Arena hosted 21,000 fans yesterday. 👏
I was stationed in the Pink Stand, at the ticketing concourse on Blocks 13-14. 📍
Just a gentle reminder, once approaching the vomitry.
1. Please remember to have your tickets out before you get to the stewards.
2.If you have an e ticket, please make sure you also have the email with you as well, a simple screenshot does not suffice.
3. Please do not let children enter or exit, the blocks without a guardian/caretaker.
4. Yes, it is imperative to have your ticket checked by a steward everytime you enter or exit a block.
All these suggestions help everyone have a safe, secure and smooth game, which is our top priority at Coventry City Football Club and at the Coventry Buiding Society Arena. ⚽️🔥

A very good initiative by PNGRFL.
Rugby League is a contact game, and it's even more physical in PNG than it is played in other parts of the world. The level of brutality and toughness put in this sport is very crazy. Hence, getting injured when playing is obviously inevitable.
Our rugby League players are not well looked after, although it is deemed to be a profession for those who take part in the sport. The little that they get from playing is not enough to take care of themselves, their families, and their health. This is a motivation and a relief to every players who dig their own pockets to pay their medical bills.
Most of our young blokes are quitting the sport through injuries, while others don't wanna take part in fear of getting injured.
Such initiative will make this sport become more professional and will encourage players to play the game we love in PNG.

Nottingham Forest recently hired former referee Mark Clattenberg as their 'referee analyst' which is apparently the first time an English team has done this.
Without a job description to hand it's hard to understand exactly what he will be doing but Mark outlined it as:
'I will help in the understanding of how and why certain decisions are made, prepare pre-match packs on the officiating teams taking charge of their fixtures, and one of my other main aims will be improving the relationship between the club and the PGMOL.'
It seems to have stirred a fair bit of criticism but my take fwiw:
1. We don't know the value of a new idea until someone tries it, so I appreciate the bravery to experiment and try something different
2. As a firm believer in the strategy of 'only is better than best', this is a good example in football and there aren't many in recent years
3. Role clarity, early wins and success definition will be obvious but important aspects of maximising this opportunity and getting org buy-in - the same with any new hire but especially one that many critics will be hoping fails!
Looking forward to seeing this one play out and how competition reacts.

If challenged, the Red Devils never walk alone
Similarly, the UBAtc supports the Belgian construction sector
It seems straightforward for the Belgium national football team to be at the big tournaments each time, and we risk forgetting the effort that goes into getting there.
Similarly, without thinking twice, users count on the ATG mark to accompany unique, innovative, and complex products and systems that are fit for the intended use for the Belgian construction sector, instilling trust without further procedures, simplifying administration for everyone involved.
The UBAtc management team count us lucky that we have an excellent team of first-class engineers assessing construction products before permitting manufacturers to affix the ATG mark on their products.
If challenged, the Red Devils never walk alone. The UBAtc also supports the Red Devils in their EURO 2024 match this evening against the Slovak Republic. May the best team prevail.

And the winner is...support.
How good is the huge transition, from purely competition to supportive collaboration at these Olympics. From BMX and skateboarding to kayak and kickin' in the pool. There is so much to emulate in our workplaces and industries. Take note politicians. Gold!

RCSA Australia and New Zealand proud to be part of a transition from competitor to collaborative.
