Update on our 4-Day Work Week trial: We started in early June, and the benefits to employees were realized immediately. The team reports feeling more rested and better productivity at the office, and we've been using our additional time away to have more fun and take care of personal stuff. Summer vacations (staff, clients, business partners) impacted our business results more this year than usual. So the data we've been tracking to understand the benefits to the business appear to be skewed. We are positioned to have full capacity designing some great projects over the next 2-3 months, and we expect the key data to be more telling: 1. Overall monthly revenue 2. Company aggregate gross margin (revenue less our cost to produce it) and key project gross margin 3. Product quality and speed/schedule. We're hopeful that this approach will produce a win-win-win for Team Engineering, our staff, and our clients. *Not a stock photo; actual Team Engineering engineers pretending to do actual work. Personal thought: Green flag is by giving applicants feedbacks on what they can do better. As a applicant, we invest our time to do due diligence about the company and the role we applied, however, the responses that most of us got is we have decided to move on to other candidates. A reason of why moving on to other candidates or what we can do better will be the green flag.

I strongly believe that in every organization, each individual plays a unique role beyond their job description, contributing not only to the company's growth but also to their own professional development. This year, apart from leading the Digital Media Initiative, I also had the pleasure of contributing to the planning and execution of our summer offsite and the Windy Wall project. 🚀 Social Media Initiative: Spearheading our social media efforts has been an exhilarating journey, allowing me to harness the power of social media to reach new audiences and enhance our brand presence in the digital sphere. 🏖️ Windy Summer Offsite: Organizing our summer offsite was more than just logistics; it was about fostering team spirit, collaboration, and rejuvenation. Creating memorable experiences that strengthen bonds and inspire creativity has been incredibly fulfilling. And let me tell you, it was one of the best offsites despite the 10-hour bus ride 😁 🖼️ Windy Wall: My next goal is curating our internal memory lane, the Windy Wall. I envision it as a place to share our year's journey through pictures, sparking conversations and fostering a sense of community among colleagues. It will be a spot where people can pause, have a quick chit-chat, and stroll down memory lane together. I'll admit I'm quite behind, but I'm committed to making it the best it can be. Summertime is filled with vacations, the end of the 2nd quarter, the beginning of the 3rd quarter, and all of the things in between. To be successful it takes time to plan, execute, and build your pipeline. There is a delicate balance but it can be done! I am planning for vacation next week with my kids and I am working hard this week to prepare, schedule meetings, prospect, and do all of the things so that I can fully disconnect for one week with my family. Today is the 25th anniversary of ‘Office Space’. This movie truly illustrates the oddities of corporate life. I’m convinced that many of the scenes are experienced by everyone, one way or another. Here are some highlights I’ve personally experienced and often reflect on: * The evil printer you want to exact vengeance upon. * Variations of those dreaded TPS reports, including Y2K. From the movie perspective, a TPS report represents something pointless, of which I’ve had my share. * The constant downsizing. Something I have navigated 40 or more times throughout my career. * That persistent stapler that follows you around. * The constant cubicle rotations and undesirable locations. * The obligatory cake-cutting birthday celebrations. * Those ‘flair’ restaurants. Besides dining there with coworkers, I worked at one during undergrad. Dreadful.
