We sit down with Mrinalini S., Developer Relations and Community Manager at CKEditor and TinyMCE to chat about how modern full stack developers have to master both front and backend skills, stitch the two together, and master adjacent skills like data analysis and security compliance. https://lnkd.in/e9ycPyhN

Today marks my 9th day of #15DaysOfLaravel and I'm thrilled to have tackled the intricacies of passing data from the frontend to the database! 💻 This journey has been both challenging and rewarding, and I'm excited to continue learning and growing. Here's a link to the hashnode article I made for the steps to do so. https://lnkd.in/dYaw-gKe #WebDevelopment #CodingJourney #DatabaseIntegration #NeverStopLearning"

🚨 Challenge Identified and Resolved or Abandoned! 🚨 Another episode of top challenge I face in software development... So, today I was working with node and knex query builder. I encountered a bug in the wallet management system that was causing some unexpected behaviour. After spending some time looking at the code, I found that the save() method of the wallet class was erroneously called twice in one instance. I removed the duplicate but was satisfied as that could be the cause of the unexpected behaviour we were having. I kept debugging and I was just about to give it in and run a test to confirm the fix, I spotted the where clause of the database query having { id: this.reference } instead of { reference: this.reference }. So, when attempting to update a wallet with a specific reference, the query used { id: this.reference } instead of { reference: this.reference }. This resulted in the query converting the reference string to an integer, matching it with the row ID in the database. For example, when trying to update a wallet with reference "4JDHT49SRF", the query would update the row with ID 4 instead. To address this issue, I corrected the where clause to use { reference: this.reference } instead. This change ensures that the query correctly matches the wallet reference and updates the intended row in the database. So that was it for today 😎. See you on the next challenge. Please allow me tag two of my big brothers in the field Isaac Oyekunle MD Jamil Kashem Porosh And also a non-tech engineer who loves tech but... 😊 Mukoro Emmanuel #DevStruggles #BugFix #DatabaseManagement #TechFix #Development

Exciting news! Our paper was accepted at SANER! 📄 🎉 In our paper, we present the hidden predicate approach to track dependencies between API misuses, revealing that every second project has dependent errors. Our work advances the reporting of API misuses. Our approach, CogniCrypt_SUBS, adds a median runtime overhead of 1% to 4% depending on the chosen configuration. Also, we conducted an expert interview, and our results indicate that reporting the fix location (root error) supports users in fixing the misuses. The latest CogniCrypt release 3.1.0 already has basic support for subsequent error detection. On a positive site note, we managed to fix previously know false positives of CogniCrypt. 🥳 This work was in my idea stack for quite a while. I'm glad that Michael Schlichtig and I revisited this idea while working on another paper, refined it, and had the opportunity to work together with two awesome students to take a step into advancing the reporting of API misuses. 🎉🙏 📄 https://lnkd.in/eywhxNb5 ⚙️ https://lnkd.in/euNzVZEh 📊 https://lnkd.in/eKd-ku6c 👩🎓 Anna-Katharina Wickert, Michael Schlichtig, Marvin Vogel, Lukas Winter, Mira Mezini, and Eric Bodden. #SANER #SANER24 #API #APImisuse #CogniCrypt #StaticAnalysis #Research #Java #CryptoAPI #SoftwareEngineering

A recognized industry leader with a strong history of building innovative products and services that protect users.
The other day, I talked about the work we do at Peculiar Ventures (https://lnkd.in/grpVewZx) and mentioned our impact on the open-source community. One of our developers just pointed out that our webcrypto polyfill has surpassed 3 million weekly downloads. As I mentioned in that earlier post, we have a rare opening in our schedule to help folks build their dreams. We do much more than just cryptography and certificate-related work. We've created one of the most popular computer vision libraries for browsers (https://gammacv.com/) and boast an amazing front-end team. This team has built many high-quality, usable user experiences for a range of applications, from configuration and management of critical infrastructure to business process automation of paper-based workflows. If you are building a product and need an experienced team that knows what it is like to build and run things in production you know where to find me :)

Who knew a possible developer mistake could bring the tech world to a halt? 🤯 Last week's global tech outage was a wild ride! All thanks to a tiny slip-up that snowballed into chaos. Let this be a lesson in the power of code and the importance of double-checking our work. 😂 #DeveloperOops #TechFail #CrowdStrike #CodingLife #GlobalOutage #TechHumor #DoubleCheckYourWork #LessonsInTech

💎 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐌𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝 𝐍𝐠𝐑𝐗 𝐢𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 Here are a few reasons why you might reconsider using NgRX: ✔️𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐭𝐲 - NgRX introduces significant boilerplate code and complexity, which can be overwhelming for smaller projects. Steep Learning Curve - For teams unfamiliar with Redux concepts, NgRX requires a steep learning curve. ✔️𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬 - NgRX’s reliance on immutability and creating new state objects can impact performance, especially in applications with frequent state changes. ✔️𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 - Managing a large number of actions, reducers, and effects can become cumbersome as your application grows. ✔️𝐒𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 - For smaller applications, Angular’s built-in state management features, like services and BehaviorSubject, may be sufficient.

Choosing the right tech stack is the key factor in long-term success. Chosen poorly, companies risk running into staffing issues, lack of community support, and all sorts of other issues. ❌ Uptime's CTO, Raimo Seero, emphasizes that while many new technologies have emerged in recent years, only a few have managed to maintain their position. This is not a coincidence. It reflects the power of experience, reliability, and a strong community. That's why Uptime has always invested in technologies with a proven track record, ensuring our clients' projects are built on a stable foundation. 💪 Stack Overflow's annual developer survey supports the reasoning behind our long-standing approach, clearly showing that well-established technologies remain the preferred choice. This year's survey highlights the continued dominance of JavaScript as the most popular programming language, followed closely by TypeScript, Java, and C#. Still, Crowd favourite Rust is also gaining more traction year over year. 👉 Check out the full survey results here: https://lnkd.in/dVQBHZRt
