Possibly the most brilliant airline advertisement ever created! Featuring the slogan "Our Unfair Advantage," it envisions PIA once again reaching every corner of the globe with exemplary services. To achieve this, PIA would need to embrace innovative ideas and break away from traditional thinking. The key to success lies in the top management embodying the mantra "We, not I," emphasizing unity within the team. They must exude confidence in PIA's offerings, focus on ownership and product enhancement, believe in their capabilities, select the perfect destinations, target the right markets, and showcase the airline's strengths instead of highlighting others' weaknesses.

🛩 This guy owns the biggest private jet charter company in Europe - 12.000 flights per year - 50% market share in Europe - 25% in revenue come from services such as VIP tickets, yacht charters and hotel bookings ... listen in to get more facts and figures. They don't sell flights, they sell time. ⏳ The average customer buys on a 48h notice from booking to boarding the plane. Means busy people want their time back. Some topics we talked about: (not ranked) - how to win in networking and get a quality network - personal branding - jets - crisis management with COVID - Goals for 2030 - customer service - how to start with a private-jet charter company: Buy jets. :) It is fascinating to see Bernhard Fragner following his passion with 17 years in and still hungry for more with GlobeAir! Link to the pod in the comments! Do not miss.

Every touchpoint tells your brand's story—what are yours saying about you? Recently, during a business trip, I flew with Delta Air Lines... Minutes after boarding, a flight attendant approached my seat and called me by name: "Tatiana, we're so glad you're flying with us again. It's been two years since your last flight. If there's anything you need, please let me know. Enjoy your flight." I felt valued! They left such a positive impression that I am telling people about it. The small details matter! This is a perfect example of a brand leveraging every touchpoint to reinforce what they stand for and providing the customer service they want to be known for. Is your brand (personal or company) leveraging every aspect to shape the impression you want to leave with customers? How do you do it? You have never had a more captive audience of customers than when they are flying in an aircraft with you. ✈️ Literally, they have no where to go and no distractions. For a business, it’s a dream. 💭 So, the approach most airlines take is to sell you duty free products, try to entice you to buy expensive food and drink, or upsell you movies and media entertainment (including WiFi). 🛜 However, a few - like Southwest Airlines - take the chance instead to be human. To interact with customers 1:2:1 and with humanity at the core. To surprise and delight customers (whilst also selling food and drink). 😃 Instead of being transactional, you build a human relationship with your customers. they then become your fans, and your business grows. It’s probably worth building the human touch into your culture if you want to last in the market. 👨👩👦👦 #culture #customer #business

Thank you, Becky Schmooke for your post. I initially came across your post on my Facebook feed and then found your profile on LinkedIn with the same message. I love the response from pilot Eric Sinn, who is a fantastic example of leadership. Your post highlights a crucial business attribute: 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 Here's my takeaway from your story.... In times of uncertainty and the unknown, visible leadership is a guiding light. As a visible leader, you're actively engaged, communicate effectively, and lead by example. You foster trust, inspiring confidence, and promoting a sense of belonging among your team and stakeholders. It is your responsibility to guide your organization, people and stakeholders through challenges and crises with reassurance and stability. Visible leadership isn't about being in the spotlight but empowering others and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration. #VisibleLeadership #LeadershipMatters #EmpowerOthers

To the pilot that showed your face, I wish I remembered your name but this - thank you. I was looking down at my phone when the pilot started talking- normally there is nothing to see when the pilot talks. This time there was. Standing outside of the cockpit he started his preflight announcement explaining why he was in front of us all. “I started doing this during Covid and have kept doing it because I want you to know how much I appreciate you and I think it’s important that you know who is flying your plane.” He then continued with a transparency that I don’t often hear, explaining his plan on handling the weather and the “why” behind his decision to have the flight attendants be seated for longer than normal during a flight. He peppered in some humor and we got on our way. Throughout the flight he would keep us updated on his plan and changes to it. After hitting some turbulence he didn’t just turn the seatbelt sign on, but with a familiar casual but confident tone explained that he wasn’t happy with what he was seeing at that altitude and was going to figure out a better positioning and to bear with him as he did so. Instead of it being an anonymous pilot’s voice coming from the intercom, we all knew exactly who was making the announcements and it made, at least for me, a difference. A face to the voice- it matters. I smiled to myself as we made touched down in Chicago, I had the perfect new story to share the next time I speak to a group of CEOs/executives on the importance of putting in the time to make sure their employees see their faces and not just their emails. I had to do a classic O’Hare sprint to my next flight so didn’t have a chance to thank him in person, but I hope that the pilot knows that his leadership is appreciated. ****And to the pilot on a different flight who thanked us for “flying the so called friendly skies,” your decision to say “so called” made me laugh- so thank you! Connect and win. Email and phone calls are efficient and certainly play an important role in effective communication, both within an organization and externally. Video calls, if used when in-person meetings are not practical, can be even better. But… Nothing connects people like sitting in front of each other and having a conversation. The business partner, client, vendor, coworker, or even an adversary, is not some faceless voice or just text on a screen. It’s a person, like you, with emotions and experiences that shape how they interact with you. By meeting with someone in person, you’re more open to actually understand and *appreciate* where they’re coming from, and for them to appreciate where you’re coming from, when you make certain asks or respond to theirs. By *connecting* with others, we all win. Thank you to Becky Schmooke for this story.
