Today, the EU and Ukraine take another step forward together, with the entry into force of the upgraded EU–Ukraine Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA). It reinforces the EU’s firm commitment to support Ukraine’s economy and gradual integration into the EU Single Market. It will provide both parties with long-term economic certainty and a predictable environment for trade and investment, through: ✅ Enhanced trade flows – balanced market access that supports Ukraine’s exports while taking into account the sensitivities of certain EU agricultural products, such as sugar, poultry and eggs. ✅ Aligned production standards – Ukraine will progressively align its standards with the EU’s in areas such as animal welfare, pesticides and veterinary medicines, consistent with its EU accession process. ✅ A robust safeguard clause – ensuring that both parties can act swiftly if imports cause serious challenges for local markets. These improvements strengthen our shared economic ties and create new opportunities for businesses and citizens on both sides. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dDcQZRfH #EUTrade

🚨With #ICS2 fully operational, as of 1 September, submitting incomplete or incorrect ENS data can seriously disrupt your supply chain. This can result in: - border delays - goods being held by customs - requirements to re-submit filings 🧾 These delays can affect your business operations. 💡 Not sure what to check? Consult our website to help you submit your data correctly ➡️ https://lnkd.in/dGh5PM4X 🚧 Note: Some EU countries and Northern Ireland have temporary derogations in place for road and rail carriers, to support the transition.

Some days in trade policy feel like theory. Others remind you that what we do can open a whole new chapter for a country. 🇪🇺🤝🇺🇿 Today, we've concluded bilateral negotiations with Uzbekistan on market access for goods and services, a key milestone in the country's accession to the World Trade Organization. Behind the formalities lies a bigger story of reform, dialogue and determination to integrate more deeply into the global economy. We have stood alongside Uzbekistan throughout this journey, supporting its reforms and opening new doors for cooperation. The meeting between President Ursula von der Leyen and President Mirziyoyev earlier this year underlined that commitment at every level: political, economic and practical. Beyond WTO accession, our cooperation continues to grow through the upcoming Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement and joint work on Critical Raw Materials, strengthening trade and resilience on both sides. Every accession file looks technical from the outside. But at its heart, it is about something simple: helping partners grow, connect and trade on fair terms. The Market Access Days series made a stop in Copenhagen 🇩🇰 yesterday. Together with the Confederation of Danish Industry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, we met with Danish businesses and policymakers to discuss how 🇪🇺 trade policy and agreements support their competitiveness in global markets. Participants explored how tools like Access2Markets and the Single Entry Point can help companies take full advantage of the opportunities our trade agreements create and tackle market access barriers more effectively. Tak, Danmark! Next stop? Slovenia! 🇸🇮 #EUTrade #Access2Markets

Not all screws have heads. But this one has a story 🔩 Today we imposed anti-dumping duties ranging from 54.7% to 72.3% on imports of screws without heads from 🇨🇳, following an investigation that identified unfair trade practices. These products, including threaded rods, anchor bolts and U-bolts, might look simple, but they hold together vital parts of our economy. They are used in: 🚗 automotive 🌱 renewable energy ⚡ electrical appliances 🌾 agriculture 🏗️ construction Each of these sectors depends on them in ways we rarely notice. The EU market for screws without heads is worth €500 million, with producers based in 🇧🇪 🇭🇷 🇨🇿 🇫🇷 🇩🇪 🇭🇺 🇮🇹 🇳🇱 🇪🇸 🇵🇱 More info: https://lnkd.in/ggapahAR #EUTrade

🎵 I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride my bike… 🎵 34 years on, the tune still fits and the policy stays on track. 🚲 It started in 1991, long before e-bikes, smart gear or carbon frames. Since then, we have been keeping a close eye on the market to make sure Europe’s producers can compete on fair terms. 🚲🚲 Today, after an expiry review, we have decided to maintain anti-dumping duties on bicycles from 🇨🇳. Duties range from 19.2% to 48.5%, with three Chinese producers exempt. 🚲🚲🚲 The investigation showed that without these measures, dumped imports would likely return at prices that could seriously harm EU producers. It’s not just about numbers. It’s about 8,500 European jobs, local know-how and an industry that keeps reinventing itself while staying on the road. #EUTrade

We often talk about trade and investment in broad terms, but in Egypt we can see how those ideas translate into real progress. Our Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership with Egypt is about creating the right conditions for investment and trade to grow. That means supporting reforms, improving the business climate and helping opportunities flow more freely between us. Two important developments show how this partnership is taking shape: 🇪🇬 Egypt’s decision to join the World Trade Organization’s Investment Facilitation for Development Agreement which supports our shared goal of improving the business climate and attracting sustainable investment. 🇪🇺 Our joint work toward a Sustainable Investment Facilitation Agreement (SIFA), complementing the existing Association Agreement and enhancing our trade and investment ties. These are solid and mutually supportive foundations for stronger trade and investment relations between the EU and Egypt. Behind the policy work, it comes down to one thing: building a partnership that delivers lasting opportunities on both sides of the Mediterranean. #EUTrade #Egypt

They might not look like much, but these 'shoes' keep Europe's construction sites moving. Today, we have imposed a 62.5% anti-dumping duty on steel track shoes from 🇨🇳 These metal components, used in bulldozers and excavators, are essential to the construction and mining sectors. The 🇪🇺 industry producing them, mostly based in 🇮🇹, is worth around €30 million and employs 190 people. The investigation found that imports were being sold at prices that distorted fair competition, putting local producers under pressure. More info: https://lnkd.in/dwGyZBmC #EUTrade
