Honestly, I never really cared about Roger Moore as James Bond. As far as Iโ€™m concerned, he was the worst of them, even worse than George Lazenby. Still, I have to admit, some of his James Bond installments were decent, especially the first one he made. Back then, there was a transition between Conneryโ€™s version and Mooreโ€™s version , so you get some kind of combination of both. As a result, ... read more

While not the best Bond movie, this is one of the better Roger Moore Bond movies in my opinion. It isn't a masterpiece, but as an introduction for Roger Moore as 007 it ain't half bad.

Yes it is overlong, yes the story is frantic and yes the villain's scheme could have done with more development. Not to mention the fact that Dr Kananga's death is probably the silliest yet most epic de... read more

“I can't believe I've never seen this installment of the Bond franchise. Live and Let Die dished up outstanding set pieces and performances throughout.

While my introduction to Roger Moore as Bond was For Your Eyes Only, this younger version was hitting on all cylinders. Whether it was an out-of-control taxi in New York, an epic chase with speedboats in the bayou, or hand to, well, iron claw fighting in a stateroom, this one has it all! I also thoroughly enjoyed Gloria Hendry as Rosie, a nice addition to the Bond franchise as a person of color. I most recently watched her in Black Belt Jones where she held her own with Jim Kelly, so she has her action bonafides.

Then there is one of my favorite Bond villains, Yaphet Kotto as Kananga, who is a worthy adversary to Bond and” read more

But it is visually striking, has some cool gadgets, some amusing one-liners, a fun theme song, a sexy Bond girl beautifully played by the lovely Jane Seymour, good direction and a credible turn from Roger Moore as the title character. Personally I consider Sean Connery the best Bond, but Moore doesn't do too bad a job.

In conclusion, a fun and above decent entr” read more

Spectre-tating these dumb spy movies and ranking t (24 movies items)

"The most notable change here (even more so than our new Bond) is simply the change in decade. Going from the lush Panavision/Technicolor combo to whatever it is that makes 70's films just look dark and muddy is unfortunate to me personally but its not wholly out of place for the film and its still competently shot. I wasn't ever all that hot on Connery's portrayal of the character but I may have developed a bit of Stockholm syndrome and feel it might be unfair to judge Moore at this point but he"
