IN104 - Apophyllite with Stilbite SOLD Poona, Maharashtra State, India cabinet - 13.5 x 10 x 5 cm Showy large specimen of green Apophyllite with white Stilbite. The largest green Apophyllite is an isolated crystal that reaches 4cm in length and stands up straight off the matrix. The green crystals contrast well with the stark white, snow-like covering of Stilbite, which is a mixture of larger and smaller sized crystals. Overall a very aesthetic show piece.
A308 - Elbaite $ 2600 SOLD Laghman, Mawi, Afghanistan small cabinet - 6.8 x 2.4 x 2 cm Pastel watermelon Tourmaline crystal of larger size. Gemmy and clean and crystalized all around - even the side crystals are complete and the base is recrystalized.
A311 - Topaz $ 340 SOLD Skardu District, Pakistan miniature - 3.8 x 3.2 x 3.2 cm Transparent Topaz crystal with pale champagne coloration. Interesting termination and internally nearly flawless.
SA543 - Topaz $ 3000 SOLD Ouro Preto, Minas Gerais, Brazil cabinet - 10 x 2 x 1.5 cm Large 'imperial' Topaz crystal of unusually good transparency. The color, luster, size, and transparency of this crystal are all top notch, in fact I'm surprised this crystal survived being cut. Rarely do you see such a large and transparent imperial Topaz for sale. The crystal does not have a classic termination, rather both ends are contacted and recrystallized.
US147 - Enargite SOLD Leonard Mine, Butte, Montana cabinet - 11.5 x 7.5 x 4 cm Bright and lustrous Enargite crystals with Quartz on matrix. Good quality and better lustr than most. Ex. Warren Somerville collection.
NA546 - Apatite $ 70 SOLD Cerro de Mercado, Durango, Mexico small cabinet - 6.4 x 4 x 4 cm Gemmy yellow Apatite in Quartz matrix. These are uncommon on matrix and even less common when the matrix is only Quartz, usually the matrix is mostly composed of brown minerals. The largest Apatite has a ding, but there are many others and it is still showy.
MW1 - Fluorite on Quartz $ 150 SOLD Orange River, Fillorsdrift, Namibia miniature - 4.3 x 3.8 x 2.5 cm Stepped, cubic yellow Fluorite on Quartz crystals. Fluorite is translucent with good luster. One Fluorite on the right side has an unidentified brown crystal growing out from one side. Undamaged.
TZ115 - Spinel $ 2800 SOLD Mahenge, Morogoro, Tanzania miniature - 4 x 4 x 4 cm Large red Spinel crystal with good luster and areas of gemminess. This is a good sized spinel for the locality and very good quality for what is typically available. The gem value of these crystals is just so high that typically any crystal with even a hint of gem value is broken up for rough, and what is left for us collectors are chalky, brick colored crystals that aren't so appealing. In fact I'm shocked this one survived because there are plenty of small areas where stones could be cut in this crystal.
TZ116 - Spinel $ 300 SOLD Mahenge, Morogoro, Tanzania thumbnail - 2.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm Red Spinel crystal with good luster and areas of gemminess. A complete octahedron with two tips that are dinged, otherwise complete with good luster. This is a good quality crystal for what is typically available. The gem value of these crystals is just so high that typically any crystal with even a hint of gem value is broken up for rough, and what is left for us collectors are chalky, brick colored crystals that aren't so appealing. ©2010-2018 Marin Mineral |
