Bot request: Scottish Lupine[edit]

Hi, can the bot replace all instances of Fox with Fox? Thanks! Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 23:23, June 4, 2026 (UTC)

Bot request: Remove the "classic courses" category[edit]

Hello, could you please use the bot to remove the "classic courses" category from all pages which include it? The category is set to be removed per this proposal. Polley001 (talk) 06:22, June 11, 2026 (UTC)

Bot request: Nintendo development teams[edit]

Could you find all instances of "Nintendo Entertainment Planning and Development" and "Nintendo Entertainment Analysis and Development" and replace the and with & so they aren't linking to redirects? Thanks! Also I suppose we are doing "Bot request" prefixes on titles now lol Lady Sophie_17 Wiggler Sophie.png(T|C) 11:50, June 18, 2026 (UTC)

Bot deletion request: Smash Bros. edition[edit]

Hi, would it be possible for a bot to delete all images where:

 • The title starts with "File:SSBB Icon fighter battle" and ends with "c2.png"/"c3.png"/"c4.png"/"c5.png"/"c6.png"
 • The title starts with "File:SSBB Icon stage select"
 • The title starts with "File:SSBB Icon fighter cast"/"File:SSBB Icon Assist Trophy cast"/"File:SSBB Icon Pokemon cast"/"File:SSBB Icon Item cast"

Might add more to this request later, but if that is possible to do, that would be dandy. Thank you! Doc von Schmeltwick (talk) 04:49, June 19, 2026 (UTC)

Control characters[edit]

I notice that several articles include control characters like ‪ and ‬, especially in citations. Given that the wiki should primarily be left-to-right and to avoid confusion, could those characters be removed? B700465189a9 (talk) 16:06, June 21, 2026 (UTC)

You are our lord and savior[edit]

Palette gadget[edit]

I created a gadget that adds a palette detection mechanism to the file upload and history pages. It currently detects the 15° Canonical palette, which is preferred for NES screenshots by proposal, though other palettes could be added as necessary. Since I believe the gadget would be helpful for other editors, could it be added to the selection? B700465189a9 (talk) 01:58, July 6, 2026 (UTC)

Bot request: linking years[edit]

Could the bot link years the first the time the year appears in the infobox (like the game infobox for games) and outside of the infobox? Thanks in advance! White Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk | contribs) 20:25, July 15, 2026 (UTC)

Not every instance of a year needs to link to the corresponding year article. B700465189a9 (talk) 23:41, July 15, 2026 (UTC)
At least the dates in the infobox should and all the appearance dates. White Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk | contribs) 16:59, July 22, 2026 (UTC)

Nintendo Music playlist list links[edit]

Could links to sections of List of playlists with Super Mario tracks on Nintendo Music be updated to refer to List of themed playlists on Nintendo Music and List of character playlists on Nintendo Music? B700465189a9 (talk) 20:53, July 21, 2026 (UTC)

Bot request: Mega enemies[edit]

Most enemies that were previously called "Big [Enemy]" have been moved to "Mega [Enemy]". Could the bot replace "Big" with "Mega" for any of those instances? Thanks in advance! White Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk | contribs) 17:02, July 22, 2026 (UTC)

Wait wait wait what? Which enemies? A quick look at Category:Large variants shows me Big Buzzy Beetle, Big Chain Chomp, Big Cheep Cheep, Big Cosmic Clone, Big Deep Cheep, Big Eep Cheep, Big Paragoomba, Big Galoomba and dozens of other examples. And I don't see any renaming history. Could you be more specific about what happened? Lady Sophie_17 Wiggler Sophie.png(T|C) 17:17, July 22, 2026 (UTC)
Enemies like "Big Goomba" (which were renamed to "Mega Goomba"). White Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk | contribs) 13:46, August 6, 2026 (UTC)
Ok. That is one enemy, not "Most enemies". I've given you eight examples of ones that weren't changed. Please be more specific with your requests or they might cause problems. Lady Sophie_17 Wiggler Sophie.png(T|C) 14:10, August 6, 2026 (UTC)
Alright so I did some research. There are also some enemies originally named "Mega [enemy]", but were moved to "Big [enemy]", like Big Piranha Plant (originally named Mega Piranha Plant). There's undoubtedly more enemies that had been moved from Big/Mega to Mega/Big though that still have a redirect left linked on each article that linked to the original name. White Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour Yoshi18 (talk | contribs) 14:15, August 12, 2026 (UTC)

Game Over (Super Mario Bros.)[edit]

Could you please move all links from Game Over (Super Mario Bros.) to Game Over (Super Mario Bros. theme)? Thank you! Lady Sophie_17 Wiggler Sophie.png(T|C) 11:48, August 11, 2026 (UTC)

Artwork tagged for replacement[edit]

Would you be able to add |type=artwork to every image tagged with Image-quality that also has an artwork license? Thank you! Lady Sophie_17 Wiggler Sophie.png(T|C) 22:08, August 13, 2026 (UTC)

Thank you for moving them, but I forgot to mention many of them have a reason parameter, so they didn't get caught by the bot (File:Draggadon 2.png). Sorry to bother you again! Lady Sophie_17 Wiggler Sophie.png(T|C) 12:53, August 14, 2026 (UTC)

Bot request: Remove pipes from Pauline links[edit]

Just tonight, a proposal of mine passed discouraging the usage of piped links to specific versions of characters and species. Could PorpleBot replace all instances of Pauline and Pauline in the mainspace with simply Pauline? Thank you. — Light-blue Yoshi from Mario Kart Tour SolemnStormcloud (talk) 04:24, August 16, 2026 (UTC)

Bot request: Changing "Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic" to "Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic" in multiple pages (per talk page proposal) and adding source of composer credits for Super Mario Galaxy tracks[edit]

Hello, I have two bot requests for you to do:

 • The first one is to change most instances (not all of them though) in multiple pages of "Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic" to "Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic" (without the macrons). This is per this talk page proposal of mine that passed.
 • The second one is to add composer credits for the individual track titles for Super Mario Galaxy. You can find out about my request in these Discord messages. But the Super Mario Galaxy Original Soundtrack album does credit the composers, but as of right now, most of the pages don't have any source where we got the composer information from. Super Mario Galaxy has two composers: Mahito Yokota and Koji Kondo. Currently, for Super Mario Galaxy 2 tracks, the source IS actually credited properly.

— The preceding unsigned comment was added by GamermanX2354 (talk).

Hello. Sorry that I am writing this message again. I have seen that you have made the bots make the edits, but I have seen two notable mistakes. Firstly, headers that contain the game name were still not changed (e.g. in Please Select Player, where the header still says "Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic / Super Mario Bros. 2 / Super Mario All-Stars / Super Mario Advance".). This seems to happen whenever a hyperlink to Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic was found, but seems not to affect those instances where writing "Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic" was not a hyperlink. So this needs to be changed too, but there are exception pages that should not be changed automatically (perhaps such as the Yume Kojo: Doki Doki Panic page itself.) Secondly, regarding the addition of the Super Mario Galaxy Original Soundtrack album, some of them already have a <ref> tag to the album, so your bot edits added a new ref name, so you actually made it twice again (if you see it in the reference list, there is a duplicate). An example is on Gusty Garden Galaxy, where if you look at the references, there are two that say "Super Mario Galaxy Original Soundtrack". Can you perhaps edit this so that they are all merged to one ref name? Thank you!
(Keep in mind that my examples are not the only pages where this problem happens.) GamermanX2354 (talk) 06:16, August 24, 2026 (UTC)

Lookalike categories[edit]

Hello, our lookalike category was recently split into three, Category:Species lookalikes, Category:Character lookalikes and Category:Object lookalikes. But now I'd like to ask for your help in removing the extra piped links that were added so that these articles are categorized alphabetically. Would you please remove everything after the | in all pages with ? Thank you! Lady Sophie_17 Wiggler Sophie.png(T|C) 22:49, August 27, 2026 (UTC)

Game Boy/Virtual Boy palettes[edit]

Figure we should let you know since you'd be the one responsible for helping implement this, there was a proposal to codify specific color palettes for the Game Boy and Virtual Boy for use with the Palette detector gadget. Camwoodstock-sigicon.png~Camwoodstock ( talk contribs ) Camwoodstock-sigicon2.png 20:22, August 29, 2026 (UTC)

Since the gadget now has several detectable palettes, would moving them to an editable JSON page make sense? B700465189a9 (talk) 21:32, August 29, 2026 (UTC)
I assume that would depend on how often it would need to be updated. --Illuminoid (talk) 21:36, August 29, 2026 (UTC)
The benefit I was imagining was that the JSON page wouldn't need full protection, so editors would be able to safely add palettes themselves. B700465189a9 (talk) 03:28, August 31, 2026 (UTC)

Cleaning the WantedFiles page[edit]

Special:WantedFiles is clogged with deleted files that use to be in someone's user page, and makes it impossible to find genuine wanted files for the wiki maintenance. Looking at the (X links) page for each one shows they are only being called by user and user talk pages. I was wondering if it was possible to send a notice to all users with an empty link asking them to check and clean their pages? It seems most of the files were replaced, so they could follow the replacement and use that instead.

Similarly, the Category:Abandoned_personal_files could be cleaned in the same way - send a notice to people that own one of these files and ask if it can be deleted.

Are these things that can be done? Thanks Pallukun (talk) 20:38, August 31, 2026 (UTC)

Most of these users have been inactive for years, so this would not work well. --Illuminoid (talk) 20:40, August 31, 2026 (UTC)
We usually use the "Articles that need images" maintenance category, though if you wanted to be fancy you could look for where the "no image" template is used. (Not linking those here, just so this talk page doesn't clog up their "what links here" forevermore.)
