These monthly "**Get-Togethers**" are centered around a theme or topic that attendees can discuss casually with each other. They usually occur every third Saturday at 9:00-11:00 a.m. ***in person***—outside in one of L.A.'s fine parks. The goal of these meetings is community-building and growth through an open-minded exchange of ideas. The Los Angeles B.O.T.A. Open Forum meets on the third Saturday of each month. Together, we explore and discuss the Tarot and Holy Qabalah, according to the principles of Ageless Wisdom. This sharing of insights in a non-judgmental, loving environment provides a forum for contemplation, creative expression, and compassionate community. No preparation on your part is required, beyond interest in the subject matter. For the next six months or so we will be reading and discussing the book **The Kybalion: A Study of the Hermetic Philosophy of Ancient Egypt and Greece** written anonymously by **Three Initiates**. This is a fascinating book that aligns closely with our B.O.T.A. teachings and we look forward to going through it together. There is no requirement for you to own this book, but if you do have a copy of The Kybalion, please bring it with you so you can read along. We will have a handful of copies of The Kybalion and some printouts of the pages we will be reading, so we will be able to pass those around. But if you don't already have this book, it could be a great addition to your library. It was originally published in 1908n and has been in the public domain for some time so it is available free from any number of online sources, but can also be purchased at many bookstores, including the BOTA bookstore. **I've reset this Saturday morning short hike of 4 miles into a 9 mile hike through the Rainforest up to the Nancy Hoover Pohl Overlook on Mulholland Drive. There will be opportunities to leave the hike early. The reason I'm doing this is because the temperatures during the California winter and spring make it ideal for longer hikes and the recent rains we've had have transformed the park into a California paradise. I'll go back to a shorter hike in the late spring. This is a HIKE, be prepared.** **I believe Wilacre Park and Fryman Canyon will be open again after this recent rain so we'll be back at it again. Let's keep our fingers crossed, hoping that we get more rain.** It's time to get outdoors and enjoy a 2 hour hike in Studio City! It doesn't appear that social distancing and masks are required any longer. So, go with whatever makes you most comfortable. I've limited the hike to 100 people and hope it is not in violation of any Covid-19 restrictions. Just kidding. Please keep your RSVP up to date. But if you can't make it, don't worry, I'm not taking attendance. But if you are on the list and are running just a little late (no more 5 minutes, we'll wait for you, if I get the message.) 3453 Fryman Road (corner of Laurel Canyon and Fryman) MEET AT THE KIOSK IN FRONT. It is right at the beginning of the trailhead. There is a free parking lot and parking along Laurel Canyon. People are coming and going so drive carefully and give yourself plenty of time to find a place. Post a message if you are running late. The parking lot has been filling up in the morning. Try arriving 15 minutes early. The first part of the hike is an uphill climb and considered "intermediate". The rest is a gentle uphill slope. There are wide paths and plenty of room for leashed dogs. The TreePeople have opened their bathrooms and there are drinking fountains for humans and dogs. Bring water, sun protection and hiking shoes, or running shoes. The dirt road and trail can be dusty and slipper. Keep that in mind. "Yes" you can trip and or slip. It is a fascinating spot and while we are there we just do a little exploring. There is a short walk in a secluded section of TreePeople Park which is just beautiful and relaxing. New in town? A few weeks ago, we looked at how Big Bang cosmology shows our universe had a beginning caused by something that lies beyond our universe. If that was a God, it begs the question: “If God made the universe, who made God”. Be ready to take a deep dive into this and address it from a couple different angles. I will also touch on “what is heaven like”, as the material presented offers insight into that as well. This will be our last meeting before going on summer break. **Where:** Bel Air Church, 16221 Mulholland Dr., L.A. Room DC101, the corner classroom off the main patio. When you enter the main patio level, one level up from the parking lots, the church entrance will be on your right and the classroom building on the left. This is a 90-minute, facilitated open circle for women. Refreshments and light snacks will be provided. The group is located in West Hollywood, and the location address will be shared with RSVPs the day before the session to protect the anonymity of the attendees. Each session opens with a brief Reiki transmission and guided breathing to settle the room, followed by introductions and the heart of our work together.
