We are excited to announce the recipients of the 2026 Meshy Fellowship Program.
At Meshy, we are building an AI-powered 3D modeling platform that enables creators to generate 3D assets from text and images. We believe in giving back to the academic community that is integral to our success. Meshy places great emphasis on the integration of industry and academia, having recently published cutting-edge works such as Faithful Contouring and Omni123 in geometric representation and multimodal unified generation. Our fellowship program represents our commitment to supporting the next generation of computer graphics and multimodal AI researchers.
The fellowship committee carefully evaluated a large number of applications this year, and the exceptional quality of the research proposals made the selection process particularly challenging. After detailed interviews and intensive discussions with the finalists, the committee, led by our CEO Ethan Yuanming Hu, is excited to announce this year's fellowship recipients, who have demonstrated exceptional potential in advancing computer graphics and AI research. This year's recipients span a broader range of countries and regions, represent more diverse research directions, and we are also delighted to see more female researchers among them.
Grand Prize Recipients
We are pleased to announce that Zeqiang Lai and Rui Chen have been named this year's Grand Prize recipients in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the 3D generative AI community. Grand Prize recipients will each receive $10,000 in research funding and a 1-year Meshy Studio subscription.
Zeqiang, as a core contributor to HY3D, is among the top researchers in the field of 3D generative AI. He possesses not only excellent research insight and taste, but also a strong product mindset, capable of translating cutting-edge research into results with real-world impact. Rui is a pioneer in 3D mesh generation and physically-based rendering (PBR), and his representative work Fantasia3D has had a profound influence on subsequent research. He remains active at the forefront of 3D generation, currently focusing on native texture generation, and is dedicated to bringing projects to fruition and building technology products that are truly useful to the public. Their combined achievements embody innovation, dedication, and excellence — values that closely align with Meshy's mission to democratize 3D content creation. We are proud to support their continued impact on the future of 3D generative AI.
