Fan Feature Week - Day 2

The rest of this week we're spotlighting creations by our fans!

We see so many amazing projects featuring Newton's Nook Designs products that we thought it would be fun to have our Design Team members pick their favorites and share them on our blog this week! Each day for the rest of this week we will share a couple of our favorite projects, created by YOU, our fans! See your project below? Design Team member Zsofia Molnar couldn't just pick one card, so she picked two cards by Meghan Kennihan. The first card used the Oink Stamp Set and the coordinating Oink Die Set.

"I love everything about this card: the layout with all the layers, the patterned papers that they match the farm theme and the cutest little piggies, how they take center stage! The little jewels are perfect finishing touch!"

The second card uses our Cuppa Cactus Stamp Set and the coordinating Cuppa Cactus Die Set.

"I love the stencil play and how the different colours play together nicely. The glitter gel accents are fabulous and even the little splatters give so much texture! The colours are well chosen and bringing the glittery accents back on the cacti ties everything together."

Design Team member Tatiana Trafimovich picked this amazing, summery card set by Sheyla Corredig at makingbeautifulcards. These cards use our Newton's Perfect Wave Stamp Set, Newton's Perfect Wave Die Set, Sky Scene Builder Die Set, Sea Borders Die Set and Waves & Splashes Stencil.

"My eyes were immediately caught by these beautiful cards created by Sheyla! The bright, vibrant and happy summer colors suits perfectly the wonderful images from NND Newton’s Perfect Wave stamp set! The pop of yellow and red tones creates an amazing contrast against the cool blue backgrounds! Great and clever use of stencils and dies for the layout makes wonderful scenes for the kitty stamps! Sheila has an incredible coloring skills! The shades added to the colored stamps give a 3D look to the whole projects!"

A Prickly Duo of Cards by Maria Russell

Prickly Cactus Themed Cards!

Today we are sharing a duo of cards by Maria featuring our two cactus themed sets: Cuppa Cactus Stamp Set and Cultivated Cacti Stamp Set. Both sets are so fun and perfect for creating cute summer cards!

For her first card, shown above, she use the images of cacti in coffee mugs from the Cuppa Cactus Stamp Set. This set is easy to pair with any color theme by coloring the mugs different colors. She colored the images with alcohol markers and cut them out using our coordinating Cuppa Cactus Die Set. Then she layered them over a trio of circles that were cut out using our new Circle Frames Die Set. Doesn't this look so fun with the polka dot papers!?

Here is a close up so you can see all the amazing details, including little added white gel pen dots:

For her second card, she created a one layer card using our Cultivated Cacti Stamp Set:

She stamped the flower pots from the set in two rows and added the various cacti onto the pots using bright shades of yellow/orange and green! A few little pink flowers accent it perfectly. She filled the center of the card with fun sentiments.

Making one layer cards is a fun and quick way to create some simple cards to have on hand and this card by Maria is a perfect example!

Coffee Makes you Sharper Card by Tina Smith

Coffee Makes You Sharper!

If you one of those people who needs a coffee to wake you up and make your senses sharper each day you will love this card by Tina! Today she used our Cuppa Cactus Stamp Set to create a whole line of adorable cacti. This set includes two cute coffee mugs with a cactus in each one. She stamped each image multiple times and colored them in different colors to create a whole collection of mugs that goes perfectly together! The images were cut out using the coordinating Cuppa Cactus Die Set and then layered to her card. She created added a fun frame and a bit of blue inking behind the images and included the sentiment "Coffee makes you sharper" which goes perfectly with the cactus theme!

Cactus in a mug!

Today we are sharing and adorable cactus themed card by Jennifer! She used the cute little image of a cactus in a coffee mug from our Cuppa Cactus Stamp Set! She colored the image and trimmed out the image with the coordinating Cuppa Cactus Die Set and added it to a woodgrain printed paper base. She layered it over a doily and some blue ribbon. She added the "Thank you for sticking by me" sentiment! So perfect to go with this image! The added white paint splatters in the background really give this card a fun finishing touch too! This card by would be perfect to sending to someone to let them know that they're appreciated!

Coffee Makes You Sharper!

Today we're breaking from holiday cards to share this adorable coffee themed card by Amanda! She created this card using the fun cacti in coffee mugs from our Cuppa Catus Stamp Set! She colored the cacti and mugs from this set in awesome bright colors then trimmed them out using the Cuppa Cactus Die Set. She added the trio of cacti to her card, added fun little inked circles behind each one! What a cool layout! She also used the pink scalloped edged panel from our Frames & Flags Die Set.

Coffee is Always a Good Idea Card by Amanda Bodine

Coffee is ALWAYS a good idea!

If you've had a long week, you're probably enjoying a bit of coffee this Friday morning and this card by Amanda will definitely make you smile! She created a trio of cute cacti in coffee cups using our Cuppa Cactus Stamp Set! She colored them using fun bright colors and trimmed them out using the coordinating Cuppa Cactus Die Set.  She created a fun chalkboard panel for her card and added the "coffee is ALWAYS a good idea" sentiment from our Newton Loves Coffee stamp set. This sentiment pairs perfectly with those fun cactus mugs! Plus, the fun bright colors really pop off over that black! Hopefully this card woke you up a bit if your coffee hasn't kicked in yet!

Coffee Makes You Sharper Card by Jennifer Timko

Do you love coffee? Our adorable Cuppa Cactus Stamp Set has some adorable coffee and catus puns that will make you smile! Today Jennifer used this set to create a lovely clean and simple card. When the image is that cute and the sentiment makes you laugh a simple card is perfect! She stamped the cute image of the cactus in the cup from the Cuppa Cactus Stamp Set and did some simple coloring. Then she trimmed it out with the coordinating Cuppa Cactus Die Set. She added it a white stitched panel on her card along with the "Coffee makes you sharper" sentiment. To add a bit of extra color and detail she added a fun border along the bottom with purple cardstock cut out using our new Sea Borders Die Set. Then she finished it off with a purple button and some white twine! What a fun card! And this card is easy enough to make you could make several to have on hand for sending out to friends!

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Today I'm playing along with the SUMMER 2017 Coffee Lovers Blog hop!

Here's what I created:

I used our BRAND NEW Cuppa Cactus stamp set! This set was part of our recent June release and I've been having so much fun playing with it. It has two cute little cactus images in mugs and some really great puns for coffee lovers! 

To make the card I started by coloring the two cacti in mugs using copic markers. Then I trimmed them out with the coordinating Cuppa Cactus Die Set. I took a piece of watercolor paper and added some distress ink in yellow and green to my craft mat and squished it onto the paper to make the background. I added a little hill cut from polka dot paper using our Land Borders Die Set. Then I added the sentiment "Caution: I'm a little prickly before my coffee" using the sentiments from the Cuppa Cactus stamp set. To finish off the card I added some hot pink twine and then mounted everything on a kraft colored card base.

Tatiana created this fun cactus using the bold images from the new Cultivated Cacti stamp set. She stamped the images first with white ink and then again with a colored ink slightly offset! How fun!

This cactus card by Jennifer using our new Cuppa Cactus set is so adorable! Those cactus images might be prickly but they are so cute too! I love the fun bright pastels she used!

Holly created this sweet cactus card using the bold cactus from the new Cultivated Cacti set! She also used our Land borders die set to create a fun curved edge and found the perfect patterned paper to match the cactus image! 

Caution tape? Yes, please!  Naki created this fun card using the caution sentiment from the new Cuppa Cactus set! What a fun to add some whimsy to the cactus image!

Maria created a trio of adorable cactus plants in pretty pots using the new Cultivated Cacti stamp set! The bright hot pink and lime green colors are so fun! 

Samantha created this gorgeous card using the fun new Cuppa Cactus stamp set! I love the way the images go right off the edge!
