So Mush Fun Card by Samantha Mann

So MUSH fun!

Today we are sharing a bright and cheerful mushroom themed card by Samantha!

To create this adorable card she combined the image of the gnome sitting on the mushroom from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set with a bunch of mushrooms and the sentiment from our Fabulous Fungus Stamp Set. She colored all the images in warm hues of red and yellow and die cut the images out using the coordinating Gnome Garden Die Set and Fabulous Fungus Die Set. She also added little highlights onto images using a white gel pen. 

Next, she added a beautiful sky onto her background panel using two of our scene building stencils. She started by adding blue inks to the light rays on our Sunscape Stencil. Then she used texture paste to create fun thick clouds using our Cloudy Sky Stencil. Doesn't that look incredible? She then added all the mushrooms and gnome image at the bottom edge of the stenciling to complete the scene.

Gnome Card by Larissa Heskett

Enjoy the Little Moments in Life!

Today we are sharing a fun fall gnome card by Larissa that features the sweet gnome from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set. 

She stamped the sweet gnome sitting on the mushroom from the Gnome Garden Stamp Set and colored him using fall colors with a pop of teal. So pretty! She cut the image out using the coordinating Gnome Garden Die Set. 

For her card, she created a white panel and added a grassy hill to create a scene. She then added the sentiment "Enjoy the little moments in life" from the Garden Mice Stamp Set onto the grassy area.  She framed the whole scene with a postage edge panel that was die cut from black paper using our Framework Die Set. So cute!

Gnome Birthday Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

 

Gnome Birthday Wishes!

Today Tatiana is sharing a gnome themed birthday card that is pretty in pink! 

For this sweet birthday scene she starts with the gnomes from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set. She stamps two gnomes along with some butterflies, flowers and a ladybug from the stamp set and colors them using alcohol markers in pretty shades of pink, green and blue. She adds a few white gel pen accents and cuts the images out using the coordinating Gnome Garden Die Set.

Next, she creates a scene for all of her images. She inks a sky in pale pink and then adds layers of circles using our two piece Bokeh Stencil Set in light pinks and then adds raindrops in dark pink using our Raindrops Stencil. Isn't it cool how the two stencils look layered together! What a fun sky!

For the bottom of the scene she cuts out two hills using our Land Borders Die Set and inks the edges with a bright lime green ink. Then she assembles the scene together, adding in the gnomes and all the flowers and butterflies. She adds the sentiment into the sky from the Gnome Garden Stamp Set and adds a little strip of pink striped paper on the right, cut from our Springtime Paper Pad.

Birithday Gnome Card by Farhana Sarker

Birthday Wishes with a Gnome 

Today we're sharing a fun card by Farhana that is perfect for sending a unique birthday wish!

For this creative card she paired the image of the gnome sitting on a mushroom from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set with more mushrooms from our new Fabulous Fungus Stamp Set. What a perfect pairing! She colored all the images with alcohol marks and then cut them out using the coordinating Gnome Garden Die Set and Fabulous Fungus Die Set. 

Next, she created a scene for all these images by using our Clouds Stencil and Hills & Grass Stencil with distress inks to create layers of grass and clouds. She cut an oval out of the center of the panel using our Oval Frames Die Set and arranged all the images around the edge. Then she stamped the sentiment from the Gnome Garden Stamp Set inside the oval frame.  What a fun way to add dimension to a scene!

Gnome-one Like You Card by Tina Herbeck

 

Spring in the Garden!

Today we have a beautiful garden scene created by Tina that combines several of our favorite spring stamp sets! 

To create this scene Tina stamped the gnome from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set, the bunny from our Bitty Bunnies Stamp Set and flowers from our Bleeding Heart Stamp Set and Tulips Stamp Set. We love all the beutiful details she gave her coloring! She cut out the images using their coordinating die sets (Gnome Garden Die Set, Bitty Bunnies Die Set, Bleeding Heart Die Set, and Tulips Die Set). 

The next step was the create a garden scene for all these fun images. She used our  Frames & Flags Die Set to cut out a panel with a scalloped edge. She cut out a second panel using the same die and then cut it again using the Land Borders Die Set to make a grassy edge on the bottom that perfectly lines up with the top of the card. She added distress ink in blues for the sky and greens on the grass. Some water splatters and ink splatters give a fun texture to the background too. 

She assembled all the images over the background she created. The finishing touch is the sentiment, "There's gnome-one like you!" stamped into the sky using our Gnome Garden Stamp Set. 

What a gorgeous way to. mix and match different stamp sets to create a fun scene! We hope this inspires you to look at your stamps and see which ones could go together!

Flying Butterflies Card by Farhana Sarker

   

Flying Butterflies! 

Today we have a unique and creative card by Farhana featuring a kitty and butterflies that are suspended by fishing line!

For this card, she started by creating a card front with an oval window. She covered her card front with clouds using a printed paper from our Springtime Paper Pad. Then she cut the oval out of the center using our Oval Frames Die Set. 

Next, she stamped and colored the kitty with a butterfly net from our Captivated Kittens Stamp Set. She colored the kitty in neutral tones and used the coordinating Captivated Kittens Die Set to cut the image out. She added the kitty to the lower corner of the oval frame. 

To create the fun suspended butterflies she stamped a bunch little butterflies from the Newton's Blooms Stamp Set, Gnome Garden Stamp Set, Daffodils Stamp Set and Bitty Bunnies Stamp Set. She colored all these pretty butterflies, make two of each so they could be two sided. She cut them all out with the coordinating die sets.  Then she adhered them to fishing line, back to back, with the fishing line glued between them. Then she attached the fishing lines at the top and bottom. The little butterflies look as if they are suspended in the sky and can spin back and forth too! Here is an image of how that looks from the inside of the card:

And here is the finished card when it is closed. She also added the sentiment "Meow's it going?"  from our Captivated Kittens Stamp Set, stamped onto the stitched rounded edge banner from the A7 Frames & Banners Die Set. 

What a fun technique! How cool would it be to receive a card like this in the mail!?

Gnome-one Like You Card by Jennifer Jackson

Gnome Thank You!

Hello! Jen here today with a fun gnome themed thank you card! Thank you cards are so essential to have in your collection and this cute gnome is perfect for just that! 

I started by stamping the gnome sitting on the mushroom from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set. Isn't he adorable holding the butterfly on his hand!? I colored the image using copic markers in fun bright colors. I also colored the ladybug and then cut both images out using the coordinating Gnome Garden Die Set. 

Next, I created a little scene for these friends to hang out in. I used our Frames & Flags Die Set to cut out a stitched rectangle. Then I cut out a hill and some grass from different green toned papers using our Land Borders Die Set to set the scene. I placed the gnome on the mushroom in front of the hill and added the ladybug, crawling along the curve! There was just enough room in the sky for a sentiment so I added  "There's gnome-one like you!", also from the Gnome Garden Stamp Set. 

Since I wanted this to be a thank you card I also added the "thanks so much" sentiment from our Floral Roundabout Stamp Set, embossing it in white onto a black banner that was cut out using our Banner Trio Die Set. This adds the perfect pop! 

Last, for the background I used our Petite Flowers Stencil to create a fun floral background. I cut it out using our Frames & Flags Die Set and put it behind the scene. The yellow and flowers really add to the spring garden theme, don't you think?

Christmas Gnome Card & a Farewell to Samantha VanArnhem

 

Christmas Gnome Card!

Today we are sharing a fun holiday gnome card created by Samantha!  

Samantha took the image of a gnome pushing a wheelbarrow from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set and tuned it into a Christmas image by filling it with little red and green gifts! What a fun idea! She stamped and colored the gnome image in shades ore red and green, cutting it out with the coordinating Gnome Garden Die Set. The assorted small gifts were stamped from our Christmas Pheasant Stamp Set, Prehistoric Christmas Stamp Set, and Newton's Stocking Stamp Set. She assembled this fun image all together and layered it over a fun simple ink blended rectangle. The finishing touches are snowflakes in the sky and the "merry christmas" sentiment, both from our Snow Much Cheer Stamp Set. 

A Fond Farewell

I am sad to say that this project marks the LAST post for Samantha VanArnhem as part of our Design Team at Newton's Nook Designs! We have enjoyed having Samantha on our team this year and are so sad to see go! Her lovely clean and simple projects are constant reminder of how cards can be simple, yet stunning! She also often combines images in new and creative ways that we would never have thought of! We know we will continue to be inspired by her in the future and we wish her the very best in her future creative endeavors! Sending Smiles Shaker Card by Larissa Heskett

Sending Smiles! 

Today we hoping that this card by Larissa will inspire you to send smiles! She created this beautiful shaker card by pairing images that feature butterflies. 

First, she colored the big heart filled with butterflies from our Heartfelt Butterflies Stamp Set. She colored the butterflies in gorgeous vibrant colors and then added a halo of blue around them. She used this image to create a fun shaker window, adding a teal heart shaped frame around it by cutting the scalloped heart and inner heart shape out using our Heart Frames Die Set. She filled the shaker with tiny sequins and hearts. 

In front of this beautiful shaker she added the adorable image of gnome with a butterfly on his finger from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set. She colored him in colors that match the butterflies and cut the image out using the coordinating Gnome Garden Die Set. Underneath the gnome image she added a bit of hand drawn grass and the sentiment "Sending Smiles" from the Heartfelt Blooms Stamp Set.

Gnome Birthday Card by Amanda Wilcox

Birthday Gnome!

If you're like me, you never have enough birthday cards on hand! Today we are featuring a fun gnome themed birthday by Amanda that would be super fun to add into your birthday card stash! 

For this adorable card, Amanda features the gnome holding a flower from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set. She colored the gnome, along with some extra butterflies and a ladybug and cut the images out using the coordinating  Gnome Garden Die Set. Next she stamped and colored the big bouquet of daffodils from our Daffodils Stamp Set. These pretty blooms look so fun and big when paired with that cute little gnome! She cut the daffodils out with the coordinating Daffodils Die Set.

To make these images into a scene she used some of our favorite die sets. She created a fun blue sky panel using our Frames & Flags Die Set. Then she added grass and a fence using our Land Borders Die Set and Fence Die Set. If you look closely, you can see subtle clouds in the sky that was added on using our Clouds Stencil. A dark blue scalloped edge frames the scene and was also cut out with our Frames & Flags Die Set. The finishing touch is the birthday sentiment from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set, added into the sky.

Gnome Garden Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Gnomes in the Garden!

Today Tatiana has created an adorable gnome card that is perfect for sending a fun spring greeting! 

Her card features that adorable gnome sitting on a mushroom from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set. She colored the gnome in fun bright colors, giving him a pink mushroom to sit on and added white polka dots to his hat with a white gel pen. So adorable! She also stamped and colored some extra flowers and butterflies from the same stamp set and cut everything out using the coordinating Gnome Garden Die Set. 

To create her fun card layout she used our Frames & Flags Die Set to create a fun scalloped edge from white cardstock and then cut a circle out of it using our Circle Frames Die Set. Behind this circle window she added a fun cloudy sky using our Petite Clouds Stencil! She then layered her gnome, flowers and butterflies in front of the circle window! So cute!

Life's Better in the Garden Card by Samantha VanArnhem

A Garden full of Sunflowers!

Sunflowers are the perfect way to brighten someone's day! This Samantha is perfect for doing just that! She features a cute little garden of sunflowers stamped using our Sunflower Days Stamp Set. She colored them in gorgeous bright colors and used the coordinating Sunflower Days Die Set to cut out the image. 

To create her garden scene, she created a cute little brown hill using the scalloped edge die from our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. Then she added a bit of white fence behind it using our Fence Die Set. Behind this, she added clouds to the card base using blue ink with our Clouds Stencil. 

For the finishing details she added a butterfly in the sky and the sentiment underneath, both from our Gnome Garden Stamp Set. 

This card is sure to send a smile!
