Find your Happy Place!

Newton is definitely finding his happy place among the flowers on this adorable card by Samantha! 

To create this fun floral frame she used the big square image from our Floral Fringe Stamp Set. She added some light colors onto some of the flowers to give a soft pop of color and then cut the image out using the Frames Squared Die Set. She also cut a center circle out of the image using the same die set. 

Then, she stamped the kitty from our new Newton's 4th of July Stamp Set, but since she's only showing his face, you could really use almost any kitty set from our Newton Category. She colored the kitty with adorable gray stripes and cut the image out using the coordinating Newton's 4th of July Die Set. She placed the image inside the circle so just the kitty face pop up behind the flowers! How adorable! 

To finish her card, she added the "find your happy place" sentiment from the Newton's Birdhouse Stamp Set over the kitties head and mounted it onto a square card base. 

This card is sure to brighten someone's day!

Hello Card by Ellen Haxelmans

Customized Card for a Happy Hello!

Today Ellen has created a fun spring card that is sure to make a friend feel special. This fun custom card features the kitty in some fun pink rain boots from our Newton's Rain Boots Stamp Set. She colored this cute image along with the flowers and ducks from the set and cut them out using the coordinating Newton's Rain Boots Die Set.  

This cute image was added onto a scene that was created using our Land Borders Die Set for grass and hills, our Fence Die Set and our Sky Scene Builder Die Set to add clouds. Over the sky she created a custom sentiment by spelling her friends name using letters die cut out with our Essential Alphabet Die Set. She also added "hello"  and some tiny hearts from the Newton's Birdhouse Stamp Set. 

How to create this card:

Below we have some instructions from Ellen on how to create this card.

1. (left photo) I colored the images from the Newton's Rain Boots Stamp Set with Copic Markers:
   Ducks: beak YR16, Y38, YR31, body Y17 + Y17, Y15, Y13, Y11 + belly Y02, Y00, Y000
   Cat: body Y28, E43, E41, E40 + ears: RV13, RV42, E02
   Boots: gold Y28, Y26, Y21 + pink RV06, RV04, RV02, R000 + light purple RV19, RV17, RV14, RV06, RV04 + dark purple V09, BV08, BV04
   Flowers: leaves YG07, YG05, YG03, YG00 + blue BG13, BG11, BG10 + yellow YR16, Y35, Y13
   Hearts: RV04, RV21, RV00.
   
   
2. (center photo) Next I created the background using the Sky Scene Builder Die Set, Land Borders Die Set and Fence Die Set and distress ink.
   
   
3. (right photo) As last step I added the message on the card. I transferred the foil on top of a Transfer Sheet. I did cut a piece of foil slightly larger than the design. Then I placed foil, color side up, on top of the back side of the Transfer Sheet. I placed both pieces inside a folded parchment paper. Next inserted the folded parchment paper with the project into a hot laminator. As the last step, I took out the project and peeled the foil transfer sheet away to reveal the foiled piece of paper! It was time to die cut the name out of this glimmer paper using the Essential Alphabet Die Set!

Find Your Happy Place Card by May Guest Designer Jeannean Marshall

Here's my nod to NND's mascot, Newton, at home enjoying his happy place. I also think this would be a great card to send to loved ones as a gentle reminder they are in our thoughts and if they had to change up their routine, home is a good place to be.

This cute stamp set is called Newton's Birdhouse. I wanted a clean and simple card without too much white space so the perfect compliment is adding a background with the purr-fect stencil Tumbling Hearts. I used Distress Oxides in Tattered Rose and (Worn Lipstick) but then switched to Aged Mahogany.

Besides making "Newton", I had a play at coloring up other types of kitties too! All cards are all colored the same, except for Newton's has red accents.







Here's the Copic marker colors I used: Orange Newton: YR27, YR23, Y21. Black and white kitty: W7, W5, W3, W00. Black & Orange Calico Tabby: W5, W3, W00, Y21, YR23, E51. Siamese Kitty: W7, W5, W3, E42, E40. The ears on all are E04, RV32. Wooden Birdhouse: E37, E35, 355, Y21. Blue birds: BG75, BG53, G000, Y21. Red accents:R59, R46, R17

World's Best Mom Card by Maria Russell

World's BEST Mom!

Mother's Day is just around the corner and today we have a great idea by Maria sharing how to combine several fun sets to create a unique Mother's Day card! 

She started out with the pair of owls from our Love Owl-ways Stamp Set. Although the theme of this set is valentines, these owls also work great to represent a mother and daughter! Maria colored them in browns and added eyelashes to the owl on the left so that they both have a feminine look. She added the cute duo of owls onto a branch that was stamped from our What a Hoot Stamp Set. She stamped and colored two branches and leaf clusters to cut out and add to her card. She also added a birdhouse hanging from the branch by using the image from our Newton's Birdhouse Stamp Set and cutting out just the top part of the birdhouse without using the post. Such a clever idea!

For the lovely pastel clouds in the background she used our Clouds Stencil along with several different ink colors to sponge in those soft clouds. She also added a layer of grass along the bottom using our Hills & Grass Stencil with green ink.

The finishing touch is the custom sentiment "World's Best Mom." This was created by using the words "World's Best" from our Simply Relative Stamp Set and adding the letters to spell Mom, cut out with our Essential Alphabet Die Set underneath. Having an alphabet die set like this makes it easy to customize your sentiments!

We hope this card by Maria has inspired you to look at your stamps in new ways and use stamps for occasions other than the ones they were meant for!

"First of all, I absolutely adore her no-line watercoloring! She colored the kitty just like her kitty and it is simply beautiful and perfect! Second, her CAS design really showcases the adorable image, and the minimum embellishments were all this card needed. I just LOVE everything about this card!"

Design Team member Maria Russell picked this no line watercoloring card by Sheyla Corredig. This card uses our Newton's Birdhouse Stamp Set and Newton's Birdhouse Die Set.

Kitty and Chickens Scene by Nakaba Rager

Kitty and Chicken Scene!

Today we are sharing this adorable kitty and chickens scene created by Naki! She combined the image of the kitty and birdhouse from our Newton's Birdhouse Stamp Set with the chicken and chicks from our Cluck Stamp Set. She stamped all the images and colored them using no-line coloring to create a lovey soft look! She cute details in her coloring like the stripes on the kitty and texture on the chicken. She also added an extra bird coming out of the birdhouse hole by doing some creative masking! She cut all the images out using the coordinating Newton's Birdhouse Die Set and Cluck Die Set. She combined all these images onto her card over a gorgeous ombré inked background, created with distress inks!

That kitty has so many fun birdie friends on this creation! Here's a close up so you can see the lovely details:

Sweet Hello Card by Andrea Shell

A Sweet Hello!

Today Andrea created the cutest little scene for our kitty to hang out in! She started with the adorable image of the kitty and birdhouse from our new Newton's Birdhouse Stamp Set. She colored the image of the kitty using copics and added all kind of details! The stripes and white paws on the kitty are so lovely and she also accented the image by adding little highlights with a white gel pen. Then she cut the image out using the Newton's Birdhouse Die Set to add to her scene.



For her scene she used our Land Borders Die Set to create a layer of green grass. She colored the grass using distress ink and added some splashes of water for the fun speckled look. She added a really cool fence line using our Fence Border Die. It's so cool how she cut the fence out using the die set and then made it look dimensional by coloring it to add highlights and shadows! She also added the "hello" sentiment and heart inside the thought bubble from our new Speech Bubbles Die Set.  This adorable card would be perfect for sending a happy hello to any of your friends!

Tatiana created this beautiful card featuring the new Father's Day Stamp Set in the center. She framed the cute image with a frame stenciled using the new Hardwood Stencil! She also stenciled and awesome fish background to go with it using our Tropical Fish Stencil.

This adorable scene was created by Maria featuring the kitty and birdhouse from our new Newton's Birdhouse Stamp Set! She colored the image with fun colors and added cute stripes to the kitty. Then she created a scene for the image, adding layers of grass using our Land Borders Die Set and a fence using our new Fence Die Set. She added another birdie on the fence and a larger one in the sky from our Newton's Birdbath Stamp Set. So cute!

Amanda created this gorgeous card for mom using our new Mother's Day Stamp Set. She colored the image and surrounded it with little flowers cut out using our Flower Trio Die Sett. She also added a scallop on top and bottom using our Sky Borders Die Set. She created a lovely grey woodgrain background using our new Hardwood Stencil. 

Naki created this adorable kitty scene featuring the kitty and birdhouse from our new Newton's Birdhouse Stamp Set. She stamped the image with light colored ink and colored the image with soft colors and edges. For the scene she added layers of grass using our Land Borders Die Set and added in a fence using our Fence Die Set. The background is a gorgeous blend of distress inks!

Any mom would fall in love with this gorgeous card by Larissa! She used our new Mother's Day Stamp Set combined with the typewriter image from My Type Stamp Set to create a stunning combination. She also added a few extra flowers around the typewriter using stamps from our Lovely Blooms Stamp Set,  Bunny Hop Stamp Set, and Woodland Spring Stamp Set along with their coordinating dies. The beautiful image was framed with a scallop edged frame cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set.  

This card by Andrea is perfect for any dad who likes the outdoors! She created a gorgeous outdoor scene using our Forest Scene Builder Die Set, Sea Borders Die Set and Land Borders Die Set. She added fun hand colored details to the die cuts to give them depth. The scene perfectly frames the fun image in the sky from our new Father's Day Stamp Set. 

Newton is collecting lots of birds near his birdhouse on this adorable card by Zsofia. She featured the image from our new Newton's Birdhouse Stamp Set and added several more little black birds to the sky around the house. She also added a strip of blue woodgrain pattern behind the image using our new Hardwood Stencil! Such an adorable card! 

Samantha created two gorgeous cards, perfect for Mom and Dad! For Mom, she layered two backgrounds created with our Bold Blooms Stencil and Hardwood Stencil. She cut the floral image out using our Frames Squared Die Set. Then she added the sentiment from our new Mother's Day Stamp Set on a layer of vellum. For Dad she created layers using our Hardwood Stencil and Plaid Stencil Set. She also used our Framework Die Set to cut out the plaid. Again she added the sentiment, this time from the Father's Day Stamp Set on a layer of vellum! 

Holly created this adorable kitty card using the Newton's Birdhouse Stamp Set. She colored the image adding awesome texture and patterns on the kitty and birdhouse! Then she paired the image with lovely bright patterned papers! So adorable!
