Life is Tough Card by Maria Russell

Life is Tough Card by Maria Russell | Newton's Support Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Life is tough - let someone know you care!

If you know someone in your life who could use some encouragement, this card by Maria is sure to inspire! She used the image of the sweet kitty holding an encouraging ribbon from our Newton's Support Stamp Set. The great thing about this set is that you can color the ribbon any color to help support the cause of your choice, or that represents the recipient! For her card today, Maria used a pink ribbon to represent breast cancer. She added a lovely pink circle behind the kitty to tie the color together. She also added some amazing details to the coloring with rosy pink cheeks and white gel pen freckles on the kitty too. She hand cut out the image and added a fun die cut circle with words around it (from another brand). Then she finished off this sweet and simple layout with the sentiment "life is tough but so are you" stamped from the  Newton's Support Stamp Set

Here is a close up so you can see all the details:

Here for You Card by Samantha Mann

Here for You Card by Samantha Mann | Beautiful Wings Stamp Set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook #handmade

Here for You Butterfly Card

Today we are sharing this lovely butterfly card by Samantha! She created those lovely butterflies using images from our Beautiful Wings Stamp Set and stamping them onto vellum with distress oxide inks. Then she embossed over them using clear embossing powder. Don't they look so delicate and pretty? For her card base she cut out a heart using our Darling Hearts Die Set and used it as a stencil to ink inside. Then she added lots of fun splatters using distress inks and water. She finished it off with the "I'm here for you" sentiment from the Newton's Support Stamp Set, embossed in white on a little black banner and some black and white washi tape.

This card would be perfect for sending to someone who needs a little support to let them know you care!

Thank you Samantha for the inspirational card today! To say hello to Samantha and see more of her awesome creations, you can visit Samantha's Blog, Sam's Scrap Candy!

I'm Here for You Card by Samantha Mann

I'm Here for You Card by Samantha Mann | Beautiful Blossoms Stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook

Soft and Sweet!

WOW! This card card by Samantha is so lovely! She created such a subtle and beautiful layout using the flower images from the Beautiful Blossoms stamp set to create a soft gray border of flowers around the edge of the card. For the center heart image, she used two hearts that she die cut using the Darling Hearts Die set and folded in half. The lovely colors on the heart were created by painting with acrylic paints! What a gorgeous card!

Thank you Samantha for the inspratio  today! To say hello to Samantha and see more of her awesome creations, you can visit Samantha's Blog, Sam's Scrap Candy!

Hop to Stop - Raising Awareness for Domestic Violence

Sponsoring the Hop to Stop Blog Hop!

Today we are a sponsor of the awesome Hop to Stop Blog hop! October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and this hop is designed to raise awareness about domestic violence, an issue that impacts 1 in 3 women, and the resources that are available to assist victims of domestic violence.

To participate in this blog hop, you just have to create a project that features the color purple (which is the domestic violence awareness color).

Here's what I created:
Hop to Stop - Raising Awareness for Domestic Violence | Newton's Support stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs #newtonsnook
I created a fun watercolor background with Tim Holtz distress inks in purples (a mixture of dusty concord and seedless preserves) on watercolor paper.  I stamped the kitty with the ribbon from our Newton's Support stamp set onto watercolor paper. The kitty and ribbon image is colored with distress markers and a water brush. I was experimenting with trying to get a multicolor fur and I think it turned out ok but I still need a bit of practice! I fussy-cut the cat out and added him to the watercolor background with some dimensional adhesive.  I added a couple of hearts, also from the Newton's Support stamp set, with purple ink and finished it off with the sentiment "life is tough but so are you" in black ink.

I tried adding ribbon or washi tape to the side but decided it was too much and kept it simple. I just mounted the whole thing on a purple cardstock and then again onto a kraft colored card base. I hope this card will inspire someone who is going through tough times to know they can get through it!

Don't forget, you can play along with this hop and show your support until October 30 - to link up, head over to the Hop to Stop post at Beccas blog! Plus, there are a ton of sponsors donating prizes, including one from us at Newton's Nook Designs!
