Enjoy the Little Moments!

We hope you are having a wonderful week and taking time to enjoy the little moments in life! Today we are sharing a beautiful card by Samantha that does just that! She features the sweet image of the mouse chasing a butterfly from our Garden Mice Stamp Set. She colored the image using distress inks and cut it out with the coordinating Garden Mice Die Set to add to her card. For the card she created a beautiful purple gradient background by using distress inks over a textured woodgrain paper. She added in clouds using our Newton Scoots By Stamp Set and the coordinating Newton Scoots By Die Set. She added just a hint of gray to the inside of the clouds to help them pop! The finishing touch is the sentiment "Enjoy the little moments in life" from our Garden Mice Stamp Set, embossed in white onto a piece of vellum. That sentiment goes perfectly with the little mouse! So sweet and pretty!

You're Wheelie Great Card by Samantha Mann

Wheelie Great!!

Today have a super cute and colorful card by Samantha that will surely make you smile! For this card she used the image of Newton on a scooter from our with the cute sloth from our Newton Scoots By Stamp Set. She colored the image with bright colors using watercolor markers and cut it out using the coordinating Newton Scoots By Die Set. She then added on fun birthday hat and a trio of balloons using images from our Fabulous Frenchies Stamp Set and cutting them out with the Fabulous Frenchies Die Set! I absolutely adore how the balloons seem to be tied to the back of the scooter and are blowing along!

For the background she created a cheerful yellow was using distress inks and our Sunscape Stencil. She layered a bunch of little clouds from the Newton Scoots By Stamp Set over the stenciled sky. So cute! Then she finished it off with a sentiment along the bottom edge, also from the Newton Scoots By Stamp Set.

Cat and Mouse! Cards by Maria!

Today we have TWO adorable cards to share that were created by Maria using some of our new goodies! For her first card she used the cute birthday kitties from the Newton's Birthday Trio Stamp Set. She colored the kitties so beautifully and added colors to the thought bubbles as well! She cut the image out using the coordinating Newton's Birthday Trio Die Set too. 

For the card base she used a fun kitty themed embossing folder to create a cute themed border and added balloons inside using our Balloons Stencil in pink and blue! So cute!

For her second card today Maria features a cute mouse from our new Garden Mice Stamp Set. She colored the image with lovey soft pastels and cut it out using the coordinating Garden Mice Die Set to add it to her card. For the card she used an embossing folder to add a tree and also added some clouds from the Newton Scoots By Stamp Set into the sky. For the grass border across the bottom she used our Land Borders Die Set. She also added in a couple of little leafy branches using our Deer Friend Stamp Set. She finished it off by adding a strip of rainbow washi tape up the side. Check out the close-up below to see her lovely coloring!

Scootin' By Card by Holly Endress

Scootin' By...  

Today we are sharing a darling kitty card by Holly that is perfect for a friendly hello! She created this card using the kitty riding a scooter from our Newton Scoots By Stamp Set. The scooter is SO adorable in pink with the sweet grey kitty! She die cute the image using the Newton Scoots By Die Set and added it to her scene. For her background she created a lovely pink sky with distress inks that matches the scooter so perfectly! Then she created grass in the foreground using our Land Border Die Set. She added in a Paris skyline (die cut from another company) and a few clouds created with our Newton Scoots By Stamp Set. She coordinated all the colors so perfectly together to create this adorable scene!

Interactive Newton Card by June Guest Designer Megan Quinn

Hi everyone and happy Monday! I am back again this week guest designing for Newton’s Nook and I am so excited that you stopped in today to see what we have in store for you! Today, I am sharing a card that I created using Newton’s Summer Vacation Stamp Set and Newton Scoots By Stamp Set stamp sets.

I began by stamping the hilarious cat image with little Newton peering into the fish bowl. I thought that it would be fun to make this into an interactive card by putting Newton’s head onto a slider mechanism so that he could get a closer look into the fish bowl (and the fish inside). I stamped this image several times, colored them with Copic markers, and fussy cut the parts of Newton that I needed for each layer. I then used a craft knife to cut the inside of the fish bowl away and backed the rim of the bowl with acetate. I cut the pebbles and seaweed from the bottom of the aquarium and the fish image out next. To make these pieces stick to the inside of the fish bowl, I put the images into my sticker maker face down so that the adhesive would be on the front of the image. I put the fish, pebbles, and seaweed on the back of the acetate where they would line up with the original fish bowl image underneath. I was careful to add foam adhesive to the back of the fish bowl only on the edges and where Newton’s head would not come into contact with the foam adhesive. I then fussy cut Newton’s front paw out and adhered that to the side of the fish bowl with liquid glue and foam tape as well.

To create the background, I used Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink and blended the ink onto a white piece of cardstock. I then flicked water droplets onto the background and blotted it dry with a clean paper towel. I added some patterned paper at the bottom of the front panel to create a table for the fish bowl and little Newton to sit upon. I adhered Newton’s head onto the slider mechanism. Lastly, I adhered the front panel to a card base that I had layered with a contrasting piece of cardstock to add a pop of color.

You're Wheelie Great Card by June Guest Designer Megan Quinn

Hello again! I am very excited to be back this week. I have another super cute card to share!

For this card, I used the Newton Scoots By Stamp Set. I created a scene card using different dies including one that makes a roadway for Newton to putter along on. I blended a little Lucky Clover Distress Oxide Ink onto the grass pieces and layered cardstock to add depth to the scene.

I decided to use a rainbow color scheme to add a happy and bright feel to the card. I stamped the images onto smooth white cardstock, used Copic markers to color them in, and then fussy cut them out. To add a fun element to the card design, I popped Newton and his scooter up on an action wobble. You can check out a video showing the wobble in action on my Instagram account.

Scootin' By Card by Larissa Heskett

Sweet Scooter Slider!

Today we have a gorgeous summer scene card created by Larissa! She created a slider card using the sweet image of the kitty on the scooter from the Newton Scoots By stamp set and trimmed him out using the coordinating Newton Scoots By Die Set so she could have him scoot across the card on a little slider track! She added layers of grass using the Land Borders Die Set with little bunches of flowers from the Versatile Vases stamp set peeking through to create a fun flowery scene! To create that lovely sky created a mask, cutting out her own stencil using clouds from our Sky Borders Die Set so she could ink up layers of clouds! Then for a finishing touch she used the little butterflies and bird from the Newton's Birdbath stamp set! What an amazing combination of images! Oh, and aren't those little googly eyes on the kitty so fun!?

Scootin' By Interactive Card by Tatiana Trafimovich

Scoot by with a slider card!

Do you love cards that move? Interactive cards are SO fun to make and to receive! Today we are sharing this amazing slider card by Tatiana! She created a scene using the kitty on a scooter from our NEW Newton Scoots By stamp set. She colored the kitty so on the scooter and cut him out using the coordinating Newton Scoots By Die Set. The fun grass edges were created using the grass edge from our Land Borders Die Set. It's so cute how she layered the kitty between the two layers of grass!

Then she attached a little pull-able tab to the card that attaches the message to the image of the kitty on the scooter. When you pull the tab the kitty "scoots" across the card and the message is revealed:

Newton Scoots By 3D Card by Maria Russell

Beautiful Ride 3D card!

WOW! This 3D card by Maria is so fun! She started out with Newton on the scooter from the NEW Newton Scoots By stamp set and trimmed him out with the coordinating Newton Scoots By die set! Then she made an awesome pop up scene using the grass edge from our Land Borders Die Set. How cute is that kitty scooting across this little road!? To make it even more fun, she added on in those cute butterflies and bird from the Newton's Birdbath stamp set on cute little pieces of clear so they they look like they're flying alongside the kitty! To finish off the card, she added the "Life is a beautiful ride" sentiment from Newton Scoots By  stamp set and the sides have two sweet little bows from our Pines & Holly Die Set! Doesn't Maria have the greatest ideas on combining all those little die shapes? Such an adorable card!

This beautiful monochromatic card by Naki was inspired by Audrey Hepburn in the "Roman Holiday" movie! She gave the whole card a fun vintage film feel with buildings floating by in the background! The black and white watercoloring is amazing too! 

This card by Larissa is so sweet! She created a hill and grass using our Land Borders die set and added a lovely polka dot pink sky! The little heart sequins trailing out behind the scooter add the perfect bit of whimsy for this beautiful scene! 

Holly found the perfect pattern paper in her stash to coordinate with the scooter image! Then she added the cut little scene in a polaroid-like fame! This card will leave you tickled pink! 

The vibrant colors on this card by Tatiana are so gorgeous! I love how the kitty on the scooter pops off that white background! The clouds and sequins along with the tiny red heart give this card the perfect finishing touch! 

Amanda created this adorable card, giving Newton a bright copper scooter to drive! The bright colors and and perfectly matched patterned papers make this card so fun and cheerful!
