Purr-fect Christmas Card by November Guest Designer Ashley Ebben

Hello friends! It's Ashley back with a new guest post for Newton's Nook Designs today! Newton's Nook has some of the cutest Christmas stamps, so I couldn't resist putting together a little Christmas kitty scene!

 

I started by blending a Distress Oxide background on white cardstock. I used Mustard Seed, Cracked Pistachio, Mermaid Lagoon, Wilted Violet, and Chipped Sapphire to create a glowy look. I was hoping for a bit of a fire lit feel for a Christmas tree scene. I splattered the background with white paint and some liquid shimmer for lots of holiday sparkle. For the floor, I added a strip of brown woodgrain patterned paper to look like hardwood. I then attached the background to a black card base, leaving a small space around the edges to act as a frame.

 

I stamped images from Newton's Curious Christmas, Purr-fect Present, and Santa Paws Newton in Copic friendly black ink and colored. I decided to make them all look like my ragdoll kitty Gavin this week. He is the cutest cat in the world in my completely unbiased opinion. Plus, he definitely climbed a Christmas tree or two in his younger years! I fussy cut all of the images out then added a few highlights with white gel pen and some sparkly details to the presents and tree with a glitter gel pen. I glued the Christmas tree to the background, then popped the Santa and present up with foam tape. I finished with a sentiment from Santa Paws Newton stamped with VersaMark ink on black cardstock and embossed with white. I popped the sentiment up with some foam tape too!

Hello my name is Tina, I have a Blog called Cards and Coffee Time:) I love to bake and love card making. Me and the hubs own small Bakery & Cafe that keeps me pretty busy, to relax I plant myself in my craft room and create cards. Whether it's a cupcake, a handmade craft or a card, creating something beautiful that can be enjoyed and given as a gift makes me smile.

Here's what Tina created!

Tina created a set of gorgeous projects today featuring gorgeous ink blends and two fun stamp sets. The pink and yellow blends bring an unexpected and beautiful twist to the winter and holiday projects!

For the winter card she used the image of the sweet group of Snowmen from our Frosty Folks Stamp Set. She colored the hats, scarves and vests on the snowmen in such fun bright pastels. Then she layered them over that lovely inked background, adding in a hill for them too. She also added the snowflakes and sentiment onto the sky, embossed in white! So pretty! 

Next she created this sweet duo of tags using that cute kitty popping out of a gift from our Purr-Fect Present Stamp Set. It's so cute how she added little stripes around the faces of both the orange and gray kitties! Then she added the sentiment, also from the Purr-Fect Present Stamp Set, embossed in white and colored in the little holly on the bottom!

Samantha created this gorgeous kitty card using the new Newton's Christmas Kittens Stamp Set. The kitty family is so adorable with all the different colors of fur! she layered the image over a stenciled background that was created using our new Ornaments Stencil in black and white!

What's cuter than just one puppy? How about three!? This playful Holiday card was created by Tatiana using the dog image from our new Puppy Present Stamp Set. She added some stenciled lights to the background too using our new Light Strings Stencil Set. 

We are loving the pops of pink on this kitty christmas card by Andrea! She used the kitty from the new Purr-fect Present Stamp Set and colored the gift in fun pink and teal shades. She layered the image over the decorative stitched square from our Frames Squared Die Set She also used the new Ornaments Stencil for the background and added the scalloped edge using our Frames & Flags Die Set.

The kitty family on this card by Larissa is so sweet! She used our new Newton's Christmas Kittens Stamp Set and colored the kitty family with matching fur colors. She used the coordinating die set to cut the image out and layered it over a postage edged frame that was cut out using our Framework Die Set. This card would be perfect to send to a family!

Zsofia created an adorable duo of tags using the new Purr-fect Present Stamp Set and Puppy Present Stamp Set. She colored the kitty and puppy with red and blue gifts and added them to two cute tags that were cut out using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. She also added little sparkly snow hills onto the tags using our Land Borders Die Set.

 This cheerful card by Holly t would be "purr-fect" for giving to a cat lover! She used our new Newton's Christmas Kittens Stamp Set for the main image, coloring the kitties in neutral gray tones and adding accents with a white gel pen. She layered them over some fun patterned paper shapes that were cut out using our Frames & Flags Die Set. So adorable!

This sweet kitty card was created by Maria using the kitty from our new mini Purr-fect Present Stamp Set. The kitty is so loveable over the pink sky background! She added some holly and berries below the image with our  Pines & Holly Die Set. The repeat stamping of the sentiment in the background adds a bit of fun whimsy!

Ellen created this fun Puppy card using the new Puppy Present Stamp Set. She created an adorable snowy hills along the bottom using our Land Borders Die Set and green stenciled hearts in the background using our Tumbling Hearts Stencil. She also added on a die cut "woof" using our Pawprint Shaker Die Set and a scalloped edge using our Frames & Flags Die Set

These mini stamps make the perfect adornment for tags! Naki created this cute duo of tags using the new mini Puppy Present Stamp Set and Purr-fect Present Stamp Set. She colored the kitty and puppy with no line coloring and gave the present extra sparkle. Then she added them onto tags that were cut out using our Fancy Edges Tag Die Set. In the backgrounds she added glittery lights using our new Light Strings Stencil Set too!
