DIAMONDS
Diamond is a native crystalline carbon that is the hardest known mineral. It is usually nearly colorless. Typically yellow, brown or gray to colorless. Less often blue, green, black, translucent white, pink, violet, orange, purple and red.

THE AMSTERDAM DIAMOND IS A BLACK DIAMOND WEIGHING 33.74 CARATS IT WAS SOLD IN 2001 FOR $US352,000, THE HIGHEST PRICE PAID FOR A BLACK DIAMOND AT AUCTION.

THE DARYA-YE NOOR DIAMOND (SEA OR OCEAN OF LIGHT) WHICH IS A PINK DIAMOND AROUND 180 CARATS ALSO BROUGHT TO IRAN BY NADER SHAH AND CURRENTLY IN CENTRAL BANK OF IRAN IN TEHRAN

THE GREAT CHRYSANTHEMUM DIAMOND IS A DIAMOND MEASURING 104.15 CARATS (20.830 G) WITH A PEAR-SHAPED MODIFIED BRILLIANT CUT, RATED IN COLOUR AS FANCY ORANGE-BROWN WEIGHING IN AT 20.53 CARATS, THE HORTENSIA DIAMOND IS A FLAT, LIGHT PINK DIAMOND WITH A FIVE SIDED OUTLINE THAT IS MARRED BY A FEATHER

THE DRESDEN GREEN DIAMOND, ALSO KNOWN AS "DRESDEN GREEN", IS A 41 CARATS (8.2 G) NATURAL GREEN DIAMOND, WHICH PROBABLY ORIGINATED IN THE KOLLUR MINE IN THE STATE OF ANDHRA PRADESH IN INDIA.

52-CARAT (10 G) ANTIQUE PEARSHAPED BRILLIANT WITH AN ODD, RANDOM FACET PATTERN

THERE ARE VERY FEW COLORS THAT ARE CONSIDERED RARE, AND THE PURPLE DIAMOND HAPPENS TO BE ONE OF THEM. AND IT IS ALSO SAID THAT IT IS THE STONE OF LOVE AND ROMANCE

THE NASSAK DIAMOND (ALSO KNOWN AS THE NASSAC DIAMOND AND THE EYE OF THE IDOL) IS A LARGE, 43.38 CARATS (8.68 G) DIAMOND THAT ORIGINATED AS A LARGER DIAMOND IN THE 15TH CENTURY IN INDIA. FOUND IN THE AMARAGIRI MINE LOCATED IN MAHBUBNAGAR, ANDHRA PRADESH, INDIA
