Water pollution
Water pollution is one of New Delhis biggest source of pollution. All the sewage and waste is directed thrown into the water that people then drink and use everyday. Here is on of the most affected river: The Yamuna river.

Yamuna river
Yamuna ,which is the river that is responsible for New Delhis existence, is suffering from extreme pollution.

Yamuna river

This is mostly caused by the sewage pipes releasing non filtered waste in the river. Recon that In 2007, roughly half of all the city's raw sewage went straight into the river. 55% of the city's 15 million people are connected to the city's sewer system. People usually cannot afford to get a proper education because of the LEDC economic status of India and so have no idea of the consequences of throwing waste in the rivers. Since most of India is uneducated, you can probably imagine HOW much waste there is in the river.

Loss of Flora and Fauna

These tropical jungles are being severely damaged by deforestation. There has been a long debate on how this land was used (this debate was called green cover) and the government wanted the 26km squared to upgrade to 300 km squared by planting trees. Only half of the estimated number of trees were planted and the other half was vanished by deforestation

Air Pollution
Air pollution is one of the major pollutions in new Delhi. It is majorly produced by industry and vehicles. as a recent study shows, are road dust (50%) and industry (23%)--vehicles accounted for only 7%.

SOLUTIONS
The government have done many things to reduce pollution but most of them were mostly unreflective. EFFECTIVE: more public transports like the metro have been installed and air pollution decreased steadily and sewage pipes are beginning to be filtered UNNEFFECTIVE: Deforestation has increased so as water pollution.
