The pattern in making a Past Progressive statement is: (Subject + was/were+ verb-ing)
1. Past Progressive is used to refer to actions continuously happening at certain moment in the past. Example: We were watering the plants this morning. It was raining last night. They were arguing about something.
2. Past Progressive is used for two actions happening at the same time in the past. Example: She was cooking while her younger sisters were playing. Tony was crying while his father was scolding him. I was reading while Dewi was practicing her speech.
3. Past Progressive is used for interruptions while certain actions are happening in the past. Example: They were walking home when it rained. When her friend came, she was taking a shower. I was washing the dishes when the phone rang.
