nation.It is the foundation on
which the development of
every citizen and the nation
as a whole hinges.

Education in Indiais provided by thepublic


sectoras well as theprivate sector, with control
and funding coming from three levels: central,
state, andlocal. Under various articles of
theindian conditions, free and compulsory
education is provided as a fundamental right to
children between the ages of 6 and 14.
Development of education in India regards that
free and compulsory education should be
provided to all children up to the age of 14.
Moreover, the 86th Amendment of the Indian
constitution makes education a fundamental right
for all children aged 6-14 years.

As per Population Census of India 2011,


theLiteracy rate of Indiahas shown as
improvement of almost 9 percent. It has
gone up to 74.04% in 2011 from 65.38% in
2001, thus showing an increase of 9
percent in the last 10 years. It consists of
male literacy rate 82.14% and female
literacy rate is 65.46%.
