Competency 2.1.

Competency 2.1.4 states to engage diversity and difference in practice as a
social worker. One of the assignments that covers this was my personal and
institutional discrimination analysis assignment. This paper covers this competency
by explaining how I have personally faced discrimination throughout my life and
how I handled it. This paper also shows how I have faced difficulties like age, sex,
and gender within the retail job I am currently working in. This paper explains some
of my life difficulties that I have faced and have had to accept as I have entered the
social work profession. I chose this paper so that others can understand what I have
been though and how I have had to work though these issues. I have used this
competency to find my own personal biases and values in working with diverse
groups to overcome these issues as to not put them on my clients. This was a very
important part of this paper as I need to be able to work with all diverse groups.
