Applications of Motivation: Group - 5

Maslow's hierarchy of needs and Alderfer's ERG theory describe how human motivation is driven by physiological, safety, belongingness and esteem needs. McGregor's Theory X and Theory Y make assumptions about employee motivation and preferences for responsibility. Herzberg's two-factor theory proposes that motivation at work is influenced by factors such as achievement and recognition, while hygiene factors like salary and working conditions prevent dissatisfaction. The two-factor theory has advantages in that it is supported by research and recognizes that motivation comes from within individuals.
