Be Thou My Vision

This hymn is about having God as one's vision and presence. It describes God as being one's wisdom, word, father, shelter, armor, might, inheritance, treasure and ruler over all, both when waking and sleeping. It asks for God to be one's breastplate, sword, and armor for fighting, and to raise one heavenward with divine power after battle is done.
