Scoring Procedures

To score the subtests record a correct answer as 1 and an incorrect answer as 0. In order to receive credit for an item the student must mark correctly both of the appropriate response. The raw score for the subtest is the number of correct response up to and including the last item that was passed in the five-item sequence. * Paragraph Construction and Contextual Fluency differ in scoring procedures.

Interpreting Results
Section 1. Identifying Information
This section determines how to calculate date tested age. An exact age is determined by subtracting a birth date from the date of testing. If a student was born on November 25, 1997 and test on July 20, 2008. 25 days cannot be subtracted from 20 days then 30 days are borrowed from the month column. The date of testing now becomes 2008-6-50. Also because 11 months cannot be subtracted from 6 months- 12 months will be borrowed from the year column. This makes the date 2007-18-50. Simple subtraction will then be applied and the students age will be found to be 10 years, 7 months, and 25 days. Year- 2007-1997=10 Month- 18-11=7 Day- 50-25=25

Section 2. Record of Test Results


In this section there is space provided for recording raw scores, age equivalence, grade equivalence, percentile ranks, scaled scores, descriptive terms, and the sum of scaled scores, and the composite index.

Section 3. Descriptive Terms


The descriptive terms associated with the normative scores are located in this section. These terms will range from very poor to very superior.

Section 4. Administration Conditions


This section is used for the examiner to record the number of sessions that were needed to complete the testing; reports information about individual or group administration; as well as indicates whether environmental conditions or examinee characteristics interfered with testing.

Section 5. Interpretation and Recommendations


This section is reserved for the examiners interpretations of the test results, recommendations for any further assessment, and any suggestions for appropriate interventions or placements. Also noted is the examiners observations of the students behavior during the test such as cooperation, attention, etc.
